Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 172

“Perhaps,” Lillian said noncommittally.

When it came to men and relationships, Lillian currently had no plans at all.

Seeing her obvious lack of interest, Leonard changed the subject.

“There’s something I’ve been meaning to talk to you about. Ethan, go get the files from the medical lab.”

Ethan nodded and left immediately.

Hearing the words “medical lab,” Lillian looked at Leonard. “Does this have to do with you or me?”

“With you, and with your son.”

Ethan returned and handed her the file.

Lillian took it and began to read.

Leonard knew that no matter how heartbroken Lillian was, she still wanted to save her son.

But her physical condition didn't allow it.

She couldn't get pregnant, and she couldn't save her son.

As Lillian read, Leonard explained, “Many labs abroad have been conducting related research for a while now. My own medical team recently acquired some of their findings. If you want to save Noah, you could go to the lab with Sebastian. They might be able to extract what’s needed to help Noah from your combined DNA. While you’re there, I also want them to run a comprehensive genetic analysis on you. Lillian, your illness isn’t untreatable. There might be a way to cure it completely. You could even have children of your own one day. A child who will love you very much.”

Lillian flipped to the last page and looked up at Leonard, her eyes filled with an indescribable gratitude.

When the doctors had given her a death sentence, she had considered giving up.

But now, with this glimmer of hope, Lillian realized just how much she still wanted to live.

“I’ll go. Not just for Noah, but for myself.”

Lillian thought that perhaps it was more for herself than anyone else.

Leonard said, “Then I’ll have the lab make the arrangements. I assume Sebastian will cooperate unconditionally for Noah’s sake?”

“Yes, sir.”

As he spoke, Ethan glanced at Lillian. Ms. Mercer was really... slow on the uptake when it came to romance. Did she really not notice that his master was interested in her? Well, it wasn't his place to worry. Besides, even if he did, it wouldn't change anything.

Lillian, completely unaware of Leonard’s special feelings for her, took the file back to her room to study it carefully. Then, she unblocked Sebastian on her phone.

She snapped a few photos of the documents and sent them to him. After that, she set her phone aside.

Sebastian didn't see Lillian’s message right away. He was busy dealing with the fallout from Bella’s situation. The information Victor had posted online had spread rapidly, and many people in the industry were calling to ask if the Blake Group was planning to venture into that area. Sebastian had to explain to each of them while also trying to reduce the online buzz and remove trending topics.

But as fast as he worked, Victor was faster, pushing the topic back into the trending lists again and again.

At that moment, Sebastian had no time to check messages from Lillian.

By the time he saw them, it was the middle of the night.

Lillian was already asleep. Sebastian replied: *If you truly cared about our son, having a second child is the most direct and effective way. This thing you sent looks like a scam—it’s just a waste of time and a waste of our son’s life! Lillian, you don’t deserve to be Noah’s mother.*
