Bella named a figure that stunned Sebastian.

He hadn't intended to ask what she needed the money for, but after she stated the amount, his brain and mouth reacted simultaneously.

“Bella, what do you need that much money for?”

“Sebastian, can you please not ask what it’s for?” Bella pleaded. “Once this is all over, I’ll tell you everything, okay? Trust me. I know it’s a huge sum, but I promise I can pay you back.”

Sebastian had already agreed to marry her. He had even been prepared to get a Valerion marriage license with her on their last trip. A loan, even a large one, wasn’t really a problem for him.

Since Bella wouldn’t say what it was for and promised to repay him, Sebastian felt he couldn’t press her further. Doing so would make it seem like he didn’t trust her or was pressuring her for repayment. So, he dropped it.

“Alright. I’ll have finance wire you the money.”

Bella nodded and held out a phone. “Sebastian, could you call them now?”

“Of course.”

He took the phone, called the finance department, and asked someone to come to his office. Beaming, Bella linked her arm through his as they walked out of the conference room and toward his office.

No one in the company was surprised by their closeness. They were often seen being affectionate, and linking arms was perfectly normal for them.

“Sebastian…” Bella said, clutching his arm and looking up at him, gently shaking it as she cooed his name.

Sebastian knew what she wanted. She didn’t want him to lend money to Brandon.

“Alright,” he conceded. “I’ll call him back later.”

He had promised Brandon the loan, but he didn’t want to upset Bella. Delaying the call was a compromise that would help her.

Bella immediately glanced at her watch. “Sebastian, can you give me three hours? Just three hours. After that, if you lend money to Brandon, I won’t interfere, I promise.”
