Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 235

After meeting up, Bella and Sabrina drove toward the address Lillian had specified.

As the car turned onto the private roads of Halfridge Villas, the two women exchanged glances.

They had heard of Halfridge Villas before, but this was their first time here.

They never imagined their first visit would be because of Lillian.

"Bella, you know about this place, right?"

Of course, Bella knew. A few years ago, Sebastian had considered buying a property here but eventually opted for a different house.

"Mom, what is Lillian playing at? Why would she have us conduct the transaction here? She couldn't possibly be living here these days, could she?"

Sabrina couldn't figure it out either.

"Living here? Does she even deserve to? How could she afford a place like this? Even if she is staying here, she probably seduced some man to get the opportunity. You know, Lillian really has a knack for seducing men."

Thinking about how Nathan had helped Lillian before, Sabrina seethed.

Her own daughter was so capable, so brilliant, yet her repeated attempts to collaborate with Nathan on an algorithm had been rejected time and time again. To this day, they still hadn't managed to work together.

Yet Nathan was so good to Lillian, so good it was infuriating to watch.

And then there was Victor, who had also defended Lillian and insulted them at her wedding.

Now, who knew what man was backing her, allowing her to live in a place like this and summon them here.

Sabrina smiled. "Alright. Since the lawyer is here with full authority, let's sign the contract now."

Just as she finished speaking, a maid came downstairs and handed the lawyer a phone.

The lawyer put it on speaker, and Brandon's voice immediately filled the room. "I'll add another ten percent to the price. Those shares cannot be sold to outsiders. Wait for me. I'll be there with the money to sign the contract later."

The lawyer smiled. "Mr. Mercer, I heard you."

With that, he hung up.

"Ladies, I apologize, but that is no longer the price. Mr. Mercer has raised the offer by ten percent. The new price is one hundred and ten million dollars. If your offer cannot top that, I'm afraid I'll have to wait for Mr. Mercer to arrive."
