Given the city and the name, Lillian didn't think it was a coincidence at all.
What she didn't understand was how this woman, who Sebastian had forbidden from leaving her city, had shown up in Northwyn.
Would Sebastian allow Debbie to come here?
Especially while the Blake elders were also in Northwyn.
As far as Lillian knew, Debbie had used underhanded means to give birth to Sebastian years ago but had never received a cent of compensation from the Blake family. With no skills of her own, raising Sebastian had been a struggle.
It was only after the legitimate Blake heir passed away that the elder Blakes gave Debbie a large sum of money.
Lillian remembered very clearly that Sebastian, knowing full well the nature of his parents' relationship and the kind of person his mother was, had strictly forbidden Debbie from moving to Northwyn in order to secure his inheritance.
However, after inheriting the Blake family's fortune, Sebastian sent her a substantial amount of money every year to fund her lavish lifestyle.
But he never allowed her to live in Northwyn, not even during the many years the Blake elders were abroad.
So why was Debbie here now?
"What are you looking at so intently? I knocked, but you didn't even hear me."
Victor pushed the door open and saw Lillian staring at the screen, so absorbed she hadn't noticed him come in.
Lillian snapped back to reality. "Oh, it's nothing. I just stumbled upon something interesting."
"What's so interesting?"
Lillian smiled faintly. "I have a feeling a good show is about to start. Time to get the popcorn ready."
Victor's interest was immediately piqued. "Something this fun, and you're not going to include me?"
Lillian replied, "You'll find out soon enough."
Then, her voice dropped to a low, cold whisper. "And... this is my chance."
Victor didn't catch that last part, but he was very interested in the prospect of some drama.
She had nearly finished writing the program for her low-altitude flight project. After a final round of data testing, she could start test flights with the drones from the factory.
"Remember to clear your schedule for this weekend. We're going to the factory."
"I know, it's already arranged. So, our project is almost complete, right?"
Lillian replied, "Not even close. This is just the first step of a very long journey."
While Lillian was busy planning her business ventures, things were already growing turbulent for the Mercer and Blake families.
Old Mr. Blake wasn't one to meddle, but Lillian was, after all, Noah's biological mother.
