Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 305

With such a capable mother, if she could provide some support to her son in the future, it would be a significant asset for the Blake Group's development.

The old man didn't want anything bad to happen to Lillian. Although they had found the best doctor to treat her, she had no family to look after her.

After much thought, since the two were already divorced and Lillian refused to move back to the Blake estate to recover, he decided it would be better to arrange for her to be somewhere else, where she could be with family and receive proper care.

So, the old man called Martin.

Although the Mercer and Blake families had been connected by marriage, there was still a considerable gap in their status and standing.

As the Mercer family's business had declined, the gap had only widened.

Despite being in-laws, they didn't have much contact.

When Martin received Old Mr. Blake's call, the caller ID alone made him sit up and take notice.

He was surprised, however, that the old man only wanted to talk about Lillian.

He emphasized the seriousness of Lillian's illness and her need for care. He also told Martin that regardless of Lillian's relationship with Sebastian, the Blake family would always recognize her as their daughter-in-law. They would forever be grateful to her for giving them an heir.

The call left Martin shaken. In the Mercer family, Lillian had always been treated as the forgotten one, the disposable one.

Especially after her rebellious behavior upon returning from prison, Martin had no intention of wasting any more thought on her.

He wanted to avoid any risks and had even hoped she would divorce Sebastian sooner to make way for Bella.

"But that ungrateful girl actually refused.

"Doesn't she love Sebastian? If Sebastian asked his parents to bring her back, it means he's giving her another chance.

"The Blake elders approved of it too, but she didn't know how to seize the opportunity.

"How could she refuse such a good offer?

"Now, Old Mr. Blake is calling me, and the implication is clear: he wants me to take good care of my daughter."

Brandon asked, "So what's your decision, Dad? Are you going to take care of Lillian?"
