“Don't you worry, Ma'am. The company has assistants and secretaries, and they all take care of Sebastian.
Everything in his life is well-managed. I guarantee there won't be any issues with his work.”
Debbie said, “Oh, it’s silly of me to ask. I used to work at the Blake Group, too. I was his father’s secretary at the time.
Of course, I was just an intern secretary back then, not yet a permanent employee.”
When Bella heard this, she couldn’t help but steal a few more glances at Debbie.
She thought to herself, *Damn, this woman is ruthless.*
She managed to sleep with the boss while she was still an intern secretary, got pregnant on the first try, and hit the jackpot. That must have taken an incredible amount of skill and luck.
And in the end, she even managed to get her son onto the CEO’s throne. It really was infuriating to compare yourself to others.
Her own mother’s rise to power had been nowhere near as clean or successful.
“You are so fortunate, Ma'am. I’ve met so many people, but none as blessed as you.
Sebastian is the only heir to the Blake family now. He carries everything on his shoulders, under immense pressure from work. It really isn't easy for him.
But after working so hard, Sebastian has to go back to the old Blake family estate every day and face a critical matriarch.
She isn’t even his real mother, yet he has to call her ‘Mom.’
You, his birth mother, live in another city and barely get to see your own son and grandson throughout the year. It’s so unfair to you.”
Debbie hadn’t closed the bathroom door. She was standing there, removing her makeup. She had cleaned half her face when she heard Bella’s words and sighed. “You’re telling me.
I was alone with a child, trying to earn enough money to support him. It was so difficult.”
As Debbie spoke, tears started to fall unconsciously.
Bella immediately walked over to her. “Ma'am, why are you crying?”
“Bella, you don't know what I had to endure during those hard years. It’s all my fault. I shouldn't have dreamed of anything between us. He was the high and mighty chairman of a corporation. How could someone like me ever hope to reach him?”
Bella said, “Don’t be sad, Ma'am. This isn’t your fault. The ones to blame are the people who broke you up. Old Mr. Blake must have loved you very, very much, or he wouldn’t have had Sebastian with you, a testament to your love.
Ma'am, your family of three should be together. You shouldn't let an outsider squeeze in.
Don’t worry. I will help you reclaim everything for the hardships you've endured and the wrongs you've suffered.”
