First, she won two hundred, then she lost three hundred, then won another two or three hundred. It was all just back and forth.
Basically, it was just a way for everyone to get together and pass the time. No one was really winning or losing big.
No one really cares about that. Bella, if you're interested, I can take you to play a few hands sometime."
Bella had never been interested in playing cards.
Occasionally, Sebastian had gatherings that inevitably included business-related card games. She would watch for a bit but never found it engaging.
She knew the basic rules but just wasn't interested. She only watched to keep Sebastian company.
"Ms. Harris, I'm really not interested in that sort of thing, and I have no talent for it. You go ahead and have a good time."
Debbie, still focused on her food, mumbled, "Mm."
After the meal, Debbie was in a hurry to leave. The car she had arranged was already waiting downstairs at the hotel.
So, Sabrina and Bella split up.
Sabrina went to pay the bill while Bella escorted Debbie downstairs.
After seeing her off, Bella had a faint smile on her face. She felt like she had successfully won over her future mother-in-law.
When she and Sebastian met, he would see the gift she'd sent and understand the thought she had put into it.
Besides, Debbie had said she would definitely support her.
Just as she was thinking this, Sabrina walked up behind her.
She even encouraged her own mother to join in to get closer to Debbie.
Sabrina replied, "What card skills? I haven't played in years. I'm completely out of practice. I want to help, but I can't. We'll have to find another way."
Bella insisted, "Mom, you're so smart. Is there anything you can't learn?
If you put your mind to it, you can do anything.
Recently, Sebastian has been focused on Lillian being sick. He was talking about marrying me soon, but now he says we should put a pause on wedding talk.
Honestly, I'm getting anxious. I'm afraid he'll suddenly have a change of heart, and our wedding will be postponed indefinitely.
Mom, please help me. We have to win over Ms. Harris."
