Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 428

The Blake elders had always been very kind to Lillian. They had even offered to support her when they learned she wanted to start her own business.

Now, with Debbie suddenly in town and spending all her time at the casino, there was no telling when she might cause a scene at the Blake family's home.

Lillian was simply returning a favor, using this opportunity to repay their kindness.

Marcus delivered the item to the mailbox at the Blake family estate, just as Lillian had instructed.

Handing it to the elders personally would have seemed too deliberate.

Most importantly, Lillian was divorced from Sebastian and no longer had any business getting involved in their affairs.

Therefore, a simple, subtle warning like this was the best approach.

She needed to handle this with the right amount of tact.

After the delivery was made, Marcus sent a message to Lillian.

She glanced at it and went back to her work.

It was enough for her to be aware of Debbie's situation; she didn't need to do anything more. After all, it had nothing to do with her.

However, the news of Lillian's return to the company spread quickly.

Many people at Martin's birthday party had seen her being taken away by the police with their own eyes.

They had assumed that even though the baby wasn't born, a life was still a life, and she probably wouldn't be released so soon.

To their surprise, on the first workday after the party, she returned to her company as if nothing had happened.

Of course, no one at Lillian's own company was gossiping. They were all smart people who saw the company's bright future. Why would they doubt Lillian's abilities?

Outsiders believed that Victor's work was the most important part of Lillian's company.

But internally, everyone knew that the most formidable person in the company was Lillian herself.

Everyone had heard their share of sarcastic remarks and ridicule.

The more they heard, the more they bottled up their frustration, determined to prove the doubters wrong.

Lillian, of course, didn't feel this way. She was too busy to entertain such feelings.

Victor was even less concerned. The strong never care about the opinions of others.

But the employees below them were holding in this frustration. They would worry when Lillian was taken by the police, but they wouldn't gossip when they saw her return to work as usual.

The outside world, however, was different.

Rumors flew, and soon the news reached the Mercer Group and the Blake Group.

Brandon asked, "Colin, are you sure you heard that right? Lillian is out? She wasn't detained? For something like this, she should have been held for at least seven days before legal proceedings began, right?"
