Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 65

The number looked vaguely familiar, but with so much on her mind, she couldn't place it.

When she answered, the voice of an elderly gentleman came through the line.

"Young Madam, the Master and Madam are expecting you for dinner at the old estate. We would be grateful if you could make the trip back."

She had expected this. "Alright," she replied.

The Blakes were an old-money dynasty, and their family estate was a sprawling manor located in an exclusive, high-value district. Though the heads of the Blake family rarely resided there, it was meticulously maintained by a large staff.

Even though she was on the verge of divorcing Sebastian, the Blake elders were still people who commanded respect. She arrived with proper etiquette, bringing a small gift.

Old Mr. Blake was quite advanced in age, around his seventies, though his health seemed frailer than most, likely a consequence of a lifetime spent building his empire. Old Mrs. Blake, in contrast, appeared much younger.

When Lillian arrived, the old woman was arranging flowers. Her eyes softened when she saw the custom floral arrangement Lillian had brought.

She beckoned to her. "Lillian, come here."

Lillian walked over.

"Madam."

The old woman put down her shears, a look of surprise on her face. "Though I am not Sebastian's biological mother, according to custom, you should still call me 'Mom.'"

"Sebastian and I are preparing to divorce," Lillian explained calmly. "He may have already signed the papers. We won't be husband and wife for much longer. It's best to sort out these relations sooner rather than later."

At these words, the old woman was taken aback. "What? But Sebastian told us you two were planning for a second child. What's this? Have you had a fight?"

No wonder he was so insistent that Nathan fire her.

Before Lillian could say a word, Sebastian suddenly grabbed her hand and said to Mrs. Blake with a smile, "Mom, it's time for Lillian to take her folic acid. I'll take her to our room."

Mrs. Blake smiled warmly. "Go on, then."

Sebastian's hand on Lillian's waist tightened, steering her forcefully toward their room.

Once the door was closed, Lillian used the momentum of him releasing her to push him away. "Sebastian, are you insane? We are in the middle of a divorce."

"Lillian, do you really want to watch your own son die?" Sebastian retorted. "Having another child could save Noah. Why are you so cold-hearted? Or is it that all your past feelings and pursuits of me were fake? Or perhaps you've found a better option? Is that it? I'm telling you, even if we divorce, you will have this second child to save Noah first."

As the words left his mouth, Sebastian shoved Lillian forcefully onto the bed...
