Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 666

Many people bid on the painting, but as the price climbed higher and higher, many shook their heads and gave up.

Everyone can appreciate a masterpiece.

However, appreciation alone is useless; you need the backing of immense financial power.

Unfortunately, the price had now reached a level that not everyone could afford.

Throughout the auction, there had been several knockout bids, but when it came to this final, precious ancient painting, the bidding was surprisingly straightforward despite its initial intensity.

In the end, there was no real suspense. No one even attempted a knockout bid, and the painting went directly to Ethan.

He looked back at Leonard, a wide smile on his face.

He looked like he was waiting for praise from his boss.

Lillian smiled. "Congratulations."

Leonard replied, "We both got what we came for today."

"I'm so glad we came!"

The auction officially ended, and people began to file out of the hall.

Just as Leonard was about to lead her away, Lillian smiled softly and tugged on his hand. "Not yet."

Their seats were at the very back, while Sebastian and Bella's were at the front.

The auction had reminded Lillian of something important. When she and Sebastian divorced, she had walked away with nothing, but there were still some things she hadn't taken with her.

She couldn't just hand over her dowry to Sebastian as well.

So, since she remembered it today, it was time to ask for it back.

He wouldn't want to hold onto a woman's belongings and use them himself, would he?

Before, Bella at least tried to maintain a certain image. Now, it seemed she couldn't even be bothered to pretend.

But it didn't matter. Lillian didn't care.

Sebastian obviously saw her too, but his gaze lingered more on Leonard.

He looked at Leonard—pale, weak, looking more like he belonged in a sick ward with Bella.

Still, Leonard's face was exceptionally handsome.

Among men, he was almost too pretty.

Sebastian considered himself quite handsome as well, which was why Lillian had pursued him so relentlessly.

It seemed Lillian's taste hadn't changed at all; she still liked handsome men.

Looking at Leonard, he was probably just a copy of him.
