Of course, Ethan didn't dare to say that out loud, unless he had a death wish.
At the Blake Group.
Sebastian was in the middle of his work when a lawyer approached him with a large folder.
"Mr. Blake, you didn't give me this divorce agreement separately. Was it accidentally included with a contract, or would you like me to handle it discreetly?"
Sebastian was momentarily surprised to see the divorce agreement in the company lawyer's hands.
Shouldn't he have put that signed agreement away separately?
He must have been too busy lately and hadn't noticed that he had mixed the divorce papers in with a contract.
But since the lawyer had already seen it, Sebastian didn't want to elaborate.
He simply tossed out a reply, "You can handle it as you see fit."
The lawyer nodded with a look that said, *I understand completely*, and walked out.
Just the thought of Lillian gave Sebastian a headache.
What on earth did she want?
Who did she think she was?
An industry elite like Bella, a strong, independent woman?
Successful in her career, with no shortage of admirers?
She was nothing but a housewife, a married woman with a child, a wilted rose. Did she really think she could make a comeback relying on what little beauty she had left?
Her greatest value right now was to come home and have a second child for him.
He wouldn't treat her unfairly, of course.
Why couldn't she just be smart about this?
She had spent two years in prison. Why hadn't she learned her lesson?
As he stewed in his thoughts, Sebastian decided to send Lillian another message from a new number: *Name your price for having a second child.*
Lillian was completely absorbed in her work and didn't even notice the message.
Sebastian's text was met with silence, but just then, Bella came in to discuss a work matter.
"Mr. Blake, I've compiled the main discussion points for the first meeting with Litech NaLabs. Please take a look."
Sebastian was placing great importance on this artificial intelligence project, so his attention naturally shifted.
"This is well-organized. Go ahead and schedule a time with Nathan's team, whether it's at their office or ours. In any case, the first meeting needs to happen as soon as possible.
"We need to move this project forward. We can't delay it any longer.
"That Nathan... I just asked him to fire one useless person, and he's giving me this much attitude, time and time again.
"Does he not understand that this is business?"
Bella said, "Alright, don't get so worked up. I'll go communicate with Mr. Cole."
Nathan, of course, knew that this was business. He wasn't intentionally trying to make things difficult. It was just that before the partnership, he had thought the Blake Group had been doing quite well over the years.
"In that case, Mr. Cole, let me assure you that my abilities are more than sufficient to handle my responsibilities. I hope you won't worry about that."
Nathan scoffed. "Miss Ward is truly impressive, shouldering two major projects all by herself. Mr. Blake is quite fortunate, aren’t you?
"In the early days of your business, you had an heiress to exploit.
"And now, you have someone as capable as Miss Ward to help you.
"I, on the other hand, am not so lucky. I had only one such person, and I was forced to fire her."
With a dejected expression, he stood up. "Let's end it here for today."
Sebastian said, "Mr. Cole, this is a professional setting, not a place to vent personal emotions. Perhaps you should reconsider?"
Nathan glanced around the room, and Sebastian immediately understood. He waved his hand. "Let's take a break. Everyone out."
After everyone had left, Sebastian approached Nathan. "Mr. Cole, I hope that during this partnership, we can keep our personal and professional lives separate."
Nathan retorted, "Separate?"
Sebastian continued, "Is it really worth losing such an important partnership over a woman who has been married and has had a child, Mr. Cole?"
Nathan frowned. Did this man have any idea who he was insulting?
"What's wrong with being married and having a child? Mr. Blake, your tone is so contemptuous. Have you forgotten that the man she married was you, and the child she had is yours?"
Sebastian replied, "Since you are aware that man is me, you should let her go. We have a more important partnership to focus on. Why let one woman affect a government project?"
Nathan let out a cold laugh. "Sebastian Blake, you will regret what you've done today. And I'll be waiting for that day."
