Alpha Cameron’s Vengeful Mate
Chapter 8
“I don’t know, but I feel strange.” he says.
“Okay, then lets just stay vigilant and keep an eye out for any dangers.” I say to him.
He nods in my mind and goes silent though I know he is on alert just as I am.

“Talon, stay vigilant. Black is uneasy for some reason and says he doesn’t know why. I don’t think anyone here would be stupid enough to try to attack us but lets not underestimate them. There are other Alphas here and many of them hate us so I wouldn’t put anything past them.” He simply nods at me and I see his eyes glaze over which tells me that he is mind-linking our warriors.
The cars stop in front of the packhouse which is a nice size three story mansion. There are a few lights on but not many and for that I am glad. All I want to do is go to my room and not be bothered. We get out of the vehicles and immediately begin to search the area for any dangers with our senses before the door swings open and out comes a man in his late forties or early fifties with salt and pepper hair. He still seems to be in shape and I can tell that he is the Alpha and the woman next to him with her blonde hair in a tight bun, a dress that is way too short for a woman of her years, and blue eyes who I know is his mate. There’s also a girl on his other side peeking to look at us with the same blue eyes and blonde hair as the older woman. Actually, the girl is a younger version of the older woman.
Taking them all in, I try to keep my face neutral as my nose takes in their scents. They smell of lies and deceit among other things. “Hmm… I wonder what they are hiding. I may have some fun here after all.” I say to myself. There’s nothing I love more than a mystery. Normally I don’t get involved in the business of other packs and I’m still not going to unless it is something that could end up harming
me or my pack.
“Alpha Cameron, what an honor to have you here. We didn’t expect that you’d come. It is known that you don’t usually attend such celebrations.” I sense a lie mixed in with truth, but I say nothing.
“Greetings Alpha Conrad and Luna Stephanie. We are happy to attend your daughter’s coming of age celebration. Please forgive our tardiness as the Alpha had some business to attend to before we were able to leave.” says Talon. I’m glad I brought him with me. He can do all of the talking and pleasantries as I am not one for all of that stuff.
“I understand Beta Talon. As Alphas we can’t just pick up and go whenever we please. Please come in and our housekeeper will show you to your rooms. You and the Alpha will be on the guest Alpha floor and your guards can take the guest floor below it.”
“Thank you for your hospitality, Alpha Conrad.” says Talon as some omegas come out and take our luggage and we follow behind them.
Once we enter the packhouse, I smell something but it is very faint. “I wonder what that smell is?” I ask Black. “I don’t know, but it smells delicious.” he says back to me. “Maybe we’re just hungry. Once we settle down, we’ll send Talon to get us something to eat before
bed.”
The next morning, I awoke to a loud commotion and was instantly on alert, Jumping up, I pulled on a pair of jeans and a black polo shirt and my shoes before leaving my room. I ran into Talon who also looked like the noise woke him and we just looked at each other before making our way downstairs. The scent that I smelled last night was stronger and I followed it along with the commotion.

Reaching the ground floor, we made our way to the sound of two women yelling and I stopped when I smelled another scent…blood. My wolf perked up at the smell and began growling in my head. To say that he was furious was a understatement. “Black what is it?” I asked him and he said the last word that I ever thought I’d hear from him. “Mate!”
Tiyanna’s POV
They didn’t like me just walking off after talking to them like that, so they decided to throw me in the dungeon. I’m used to it at this
point and spending one night in there wasn’t going to hurt me. I wasn’t wrong when I said they wouldn’t touch me because there were
guests here, but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t punish me by putting me there. The next morning, they let me out at 4 so that I could
help clean and get things set up for tonight’s festivities. I was allowed to go to my room to clean myself up and look presentable enough
in case any of the guests ran into me. They gave me some somewhat decent clothes to wear and sent me on my way.
Making my way to the kitchen, I smelled a faint scent coming from the foyer that smelled of fresh pine and peppermint. The scent was
delicious and I wondered if someone had a new cologne or maybe the cologne was from one of our guests. I just shrugged and kept
heading to the kitchen. I went to the supply closet and took out the cleaning supplies and got to work. There were other omegas cleaning
as well but that’s only because we have guests, otherwise I would be doing this work alone. They have to make themselves look good in front of these packs if they want to gain allies. “When do we get to leave this place?” asks my wolf. “Silver, we will make our escape tonight while they are all partying.” I tell her. “Good, though for some reason, I’m getting the feeling we should wait.” she says. Now I’m confused because I know that she wants to leave as bad as I do from here. “What do you mean stay here? I thought that you wanted to leave?” I
asked her. “I don’t know. It is just a feeling and I can’t explain it.” she says.
Before I can answer her, Amelia comes into the kitchen screeching like a damn banshee. We all look towards her and while the others cower, I just roll my eyes. She is so dramatic and her voice is grating on my nerves. “I really wish we could rip out her vocal cords and do everyone a favor.” says my wolf and I can’t help the giggle that comes out of me.

Alpha Cameron’s Vengeful Mate
Chapter 9
“What’s so funny?” says Amelia.
82
“You are, as usual. Why can’t you ever enter a room like a normal person? We do have visitors, so you may want to act more like the
daughter of an Alpha and show some kind of etiquette even if you have none.” I say to her and hear the gasps of the other omegas.
“How dare you talk to me that way? You are nothing but a useless and wolf-less orphan she-wolf. You have no rank and are lower than an
omega.” I laugh loud this time.
“I’m useless? Have you looked at yourself? You are the least trained wolf here and that’s saying something because I’m not even allowed
to train and could beat you in a fight and you know it which is why you always have your friends jump me. As far as not having a rank, I outrank even your father and mother and they know as well as you.” I say to her earning more gasps and by now there is a crowd
gathering of other pack members as we are in the common room now.
“Did she just say that she outranks even the Alpha and Luna?” says one pack member.
“Well, her parents were Betas of this pack but they were both of Alpha blood so she isn’t lying.” says another pack member and more murmurs begin. Luna Stephanie walks in to see what the commotion is all about and sees me and her daughter standing in the middle of
everyone.
“I should have known that it was you causing trouble again. You can’t even control yourself while we have guests here. What is going on
now?” she asks nobody in particular but Amelia speaks.
“She’s spreading lies that she outranks you and father and that she could beat me in a fight.” says Amelia. I see in her mother’s eyes the panic at the fact that everyone knows I outrank them now but she quickly fixes her face.
“You all know better than to believe anything this girl says. She’s only saying these things for attention. Now, all of you go on about your business. Breakfast is ready in the dining hall.” She tries to get them to believe her, but I can tell that she hasn’t convinced most of them.
The crowd begins to disperse and when everyone is gone, she quickly slaps me across the face. My wolf stirs and I feel her anger starting to rise. She goes to hit me again and I catch her hand and slap her with my other one making her stumble backwards.
“You will never raise your hand to strike me again or I’ll rip it off.” My wolf is in control now and I am struggling to get control back.
“She… she has her wolf. I thought she was wolf less. Why can’t I smell her wolf?” asks Amelia. My wolf smiles sadistically at her.
“You can’t smell me because I don’t want you to, you dumb bitch!” says my wolf. She raises my hand to touch her lip and there’s blood.
She growls low at them.
Amelia and her mother look at each other before looking back at me shocked. My wolf has been keeping our scent hidden ever since we first shifted because of our color. We don’t know if there has ever been another wolf in history with our color and felt that in this pack
there could be trouble for us if anyone knew.

Chapter 9
“You’re going to pay for striking your Luna, you stupid girl.” shouts the Luna.
Suddenly, I’m grabbed from behind by one of the pack guards and Amelia grabs my face hard making my split lip hurt thought it is almost
healed. She has them make me kneel as she starts to slap my face over and over causing my lip to split again. My wolf is getting angrier
and angrier but she stiffens when that fresh pine and peppermint scent starts to get stronger and stronger and she starts pacing in my
head.
“What’s going on Silver?” I ask her nervously.
“That smell is so delicious. I feel the need to find where it is coming from.” she says.
I start to ask what it is about this scent makes her want to find it when a very loud growl shakes the windows. Everyone in the room turns to look towards the sound and I can sense two men enter the room but I can only see one. My wolf starts to prance around in my head and I don’t understand what’s going on until she starts screaming “Mate!” over and over in my head. Oh no! We’re not going
through this again. “This time will be different. I can just feel it.” she says to me.
I don’t have time to think about what she is saying when another growl rips through the room and draws attention of the other guests. Once again, the room starts to fill up with people. This time, even Alpha Conrad shows up demanding to know what is going on. I roll my eyes at him while still trying to see who the growl came from which is impossible from this position. I’d seen all the other guests so I know that it came from one of these two new guys and the one I could see wasn’t growling so it had to be the other one, my mate.

Maya and I spent most of the evening watching Stranger things: season four, and somehow, her presence in the house had managed to make me feel better.
I no longer thought about my weirdly evil family and everything they did to me in the past. However, I did think about the countless ways I could get back at them, as well as find out what they must’ve done to me to make my wolf so
weak.

During the course of our movie time, I attended to a few work calls and emails, and about an hour into the movie, my doorbell rang.
“Our food is here!” Maya squealed in excitement, and I could only laugh as she jumped to her feet.

I watched her round the sofa and run off to get the door, but a minute passed and then two… I heard nothing. I stood up quickly and rushed to the door to check on what was holding her back, but to my utter dismay, I found Gavin standing there, his face flushed and his hair messy. But he wasn’t trying to talk to Maya, no. He was trying to come into the house.
I frowned upon seeing him and spat; “What the hell are you doing here, Gavin?”
He turned his gaze toward my direction as soon as he heard my voice, and I could only glare at him in confusion when a quiet sigh escaped his lips. He drawled; “I came to see you, sister!”
Sister?
Did the jerk just call me sister?
Annoyance rose in the bottom of my stomach like vomit and I took a cautious step back when he tried to come closer.

He rushed out; “I know that you do not wish to
see me and I understand that. For real, I do; and
sincerely, I wouldn’t wish to see me too if I were you. However, I just found out that you had nothing to do with that rogue attack four years ago… you know, the one that we blamed you for because we found some incriminating chats in your old phone…” He said, and goddess, I didn’t know how to feel when I heard him say those words.
I didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. I didn’t know if I should laugh or cry; and I certainly didn’t know if it would be nice to simply walk to him and give him one resonating slap.

My hand balled into tight fists as I glared at him emotionlessly and with my voice as cold as glaciers, I seethed; “So what do you want me to do about it now?”
“Leilani-”

“I remember how desperately I begged you
people to listen to me. How hard I tried to explain that I never had anything to do with the attack, but did you ever listen?”
He didn’t shy away. He shook his head. “No.”
“So tell me, Gavin, what did you guys do?” I asked, but this time, he didn’t respond right away. He simply watched me carefully, his eyes softening as he said;
“I’m trying to make it up to you. Can’t you see that I’m trying? I can’t sleep… I can’t eat… I can’t do anything without thinking about you and how I can get you to forgive m—”
“And even up until now, the only thing you care about is yourself!” I snapped, interrupting him. “The only thing you care about is how this whole scenario makes you feel and not how I am supposed to react to it.” I answered coldly, causing him to gasp.

And since he didn’t say anything else, I took the opportunity to continue to speak. I added; “Now, back to the question I asked
you that you could not provide an answer to, you all branded me as a traitor. You, my so-called brother, punished me dearly until I almost lost my life, and do you know what? I had to have my skin grafted just to hide the scars you gave me.”
Maya gasped and angry tears welled up in my
eyes
when she stuck her fist into her mouth and
looked away.
I knew she was crying. I didn’t even need to look
to know that she was… and what hurt her the
most was the fact that she had been paired with the same monster that almost killed me, not once
