Fated To Three Betrayed By All Until She Rose (Leilani) by Ahvahh novel Chapter 153

Zevran.

The wind blew strongly, raising some cloud of dust into the air as we all gathered outside, close to the freshly dug out grave.

My

hands balled into fists as I watched numbly while the priest led Father’s funeral rites, but as the event proceeded, I couldn’t help but feel sharp eyes on me, drilling holes into my skin and causing weird prickly goosebumps to erupt at the back of my neck.

I turned briefly in the direction where my

discomfort was coming from and frowned slightly when my eyes met Micah’s. His lips curved into a smug smile when he caught me watching, but deciding that the last thing I wanted to do right now is indulge him, I turned away and closed my eyes, wrapping my arms around mother who

leaned slightly into me.

A few minutes later, the procession came to an end and father was slowly lowered into the ground. Mother too left my side to exchange some words with the guests present, and I turned to my brothers, my eyes rolling when I saw Kael standing beside Chalice with his arm wrapped around her waist.

I walked over to them, not missing the way Micah continued to watch me carefully, and when I arrived, I tucked a stray hair behind Chalice’s ear and turned to Kael.

“When do we leave this place?” I asked irritatedly.

Caelum, on the other hand, joined in then. He looked just as irritated as I was with slightly swollen eyes. When his eyes met Chalice, all he did was smile and then hissed; “Can we leave

now?”

“Why?” Kael asked, “It’s our father’s funeral and

we cannot simply walk away when there are still so many guests around.”

“We could say we’re mourning silently.” Caelum snapped, “…moreover I can’t keep putting on a show for people who I don’t even know anything about.” He added, his eyes intentionally dropping to Kael’s hand still wrapped around Chalice’s waist as he spoke.

Kael was just about to respond when however, an unfamiliar presence joined us. My eyes thinned as I turned around to glare at Micah who simply smirked and drawled; “Cousins…!”

“Micah.” Kael answered, his tone flat. “Is there anything you want us to do for you?”

His eyes moved from our faces to Chalice’s where he paused and smiled so bright, I became irritated. He curtsied; “My lady.”

“She’s Luna now,” I was the one who said that, and as soon as I did, my mouth instantly tasted bitter,

especially when Chalice began to fan her face exaggeratedly, her cheeks flushing as she

murmured;

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mr…”

Micah’s brows raised. “Stone, but since we’re family, you can simply call me Micah.”

“I would’ve agreed to do that…” she sassed, lifting her chin slowly until her eyes met his defiantly, “.. but the first thing you called me today was ‘Bitch’. So thank you for offering, but we’re not family.”

The smile on Micah’s face never faltered even as

she openly accused him. And I knew that this egoistic bastard would never apologize until

forced to.

I pushed past Chalice to stand before Micah and with all pleasantness washed completely off my face, I snarled; “You should apologize for speaking to your Luna that way.”

He frowned. “But-”

“I don’t care what your reasons for doing it were.

She’s our wife. She’s the woman we chose and

henceforth, she’s your Luna as well, and you ought to apologize.”

“Will you ask the entire pack to apologize too?” He sneered, “…you know, a lot of people have said worse behind her back!” He added stubbornly, causing some people around to turn to us.

But I didn’t care about the attention.

All I cared about was a way to push the narrative that we had fully accepted Chalice to the public.

My hands shot out to grab his collar before I could help myself, and just then, Caelum, the power hungry bunny, growled in his Alpha voice; “Apologize!”

I watched in satisfaction as his face crumbled. He

was a proud man, this one, but his pride was

nothing compared to our bloodline. A frown creased his forehead as he dropped to his knees, his voice trembling as he seethed;

“I’m sorry.”

“You should direct the apology to the lady.”

“I’m sorry, Ms Chalice.”

“She’s your Luna.”

“I’m sorry, Luna.”

His body shook as he spoke, and by the time he finished speaking, I turned to Kael who had been quiet the entire time but had a proud smile on his face, and asked;

“Are you satisfied with his apology?”

Kael nodded. “Yes,” then with a flick of his wrist, he added; “you can go… but first, always remember to respect our Luna. I don’t care what you or the others in the pack think about her. She’s with us and that’s all that matters!” @

Micah nodded slowly, but I didn’t miss the stubborn glint in his eyes or the way he looked like he was about to combust. With wobbly knees, he rose to his feet and turned away, but not before I heard him say something that instantly made my blood boil under his breath.

He sneered; “Wait until tomorrow when the will

is read.”

But I didn’t stop him. I didn’t even say a word to him nor my brothers because I knew that he was delusional, and giving him the attention he craved for simply meant giving him the power to get under our skins.

We turned and left the open field and headed into the house, and while we went, Chalice clung to Kael’s arm like a handbag.

However, as soon as we arrived at the private wing, Kael, let go of Chalice and stepped away from her, his eyes icy as he snapped;

“We’re done here.”

“But Kael…” she cried in that small whiny voice

that usually manages to annoy the hell out of me. “We’re-”

“The room behind you is yours,” Kael snapped, ignoring her. “Go in.”

“Can I-?” She began to say but before she could finish, he held up his hands and snarled;

“It seems to me that you’re forgotten all we talked about before embarking on this trip. And if you’ve forgotten, I’ll be glad to remind you. In public, we’ll act like a couple but in private, you’re to be as far away from me as possible.”

“But you fought for me back there!” She cried and as soon as she did, I had this irresistible urge to laugh. 2

“Yes, that’s because to everyone, you’re our Luna. Do you want us to stand by and allow people to

call you names? I know you’re a bitch… but for

you what now, we can’t allow other men to call we already know you are.” He snapped, causing her face to redden as tears slipped into her eyes.

“Now, be sensible enough to go to bed. You don’t want to remind me of the reasons the entire pack hates you right now, do you?”

I saw the look of horror on her face before she quickly shook her head.
