Leilani.
“Gavin, you do not know what you are saying?!”
“Gavin, do you have any idea what you’re doing?!”
“I can’t believe he would say something like that!”
Shouts erupted in the courtroom, but despite all of this, one thing was constant: He never took his eyes off me.
He never stopped smiling at me.
And somehow, it felt as though he was trying to communicate with me in a way that no one else would understand. But I didn’t either.
My heart raced as I continued to watch him raise the envelope over his head, not faltering even when the screams around us were getting louder with each passing second; not even when father rose to his feet pointing a shaky finger at him as he growled; “Do you know what you’re doing?!”
“Yes,” Gavin replied quietly, seemingly unbothered before his eyes met mine again for the nth time this morning.
I turned away from him to look at the judge who sighed then shook her head, her brows furrowed in confusion.
“Order!” A voice yelled out but I was too in my element to know who it was. And funny enough, I couldn’t find my voice so speaking was as good as impossible.
“ORDER!” The voice yelled again, and this time, everyone stopped talking and turned to the front of the room, and in that moment, I finally managed to glance once at Chalice, not missing the way her eyes had hardened so much, it was a miracle that she hadn’t turned into stone, nor the slight tremor which she now tried so hard to hide.
Earlier today, she’d been all cocky and mean towards me, and it was funny that all of that has now disappeared, morphing into something that now looked like fear.
Her eyes snagged on mine and the frown on her face deepened. But instead of returning it, I simply smiled back at her, reveling in the horror that fleeted past her features.
Call me wicked, but I love love the turnout of events. I love how embarrassed she seemed… and I wished… oh goddess, I wish I could hurt her in more ways than this.

“Mr Blackthorne, are you sure of the evidence with you?” This time, it was my lawyer who asked Gavin and my heart began to hammer when he nodded firmly.
“Yes, I am.”
At his answer, Chalice recoiled and let out a small cry. I saw him turn his gaze to her, his eyes soft; and even though I had half expected him to give up right there and then – because you know, she used to be his precious little sister- he didn’t.
“Present it to the court then.” My lawyer stated, and at that, my breath hitched.
An uncomfortable silence settled between us and I watched in curiosity as he made his way to the front of the court room.
Amidst the silent chaos, he and two other men began to assemble the evidence before the judge and by the time they finished, the awkwardness in the air had gotten so thick and so tense, it could literally be cut through with a knife.
A tremor ran through me when the projector clicked on again and to my utmost satisfaction, tons and tons of images began to play out on the screen.
Some of them were my medical records.
Some were images of me battered and beaten to stupor.
The memories they brought made me tremble despite my need to not show weakness; and as it progressed, it began to take a different darker turn: It showed the chats between Chalice and some strange numbers. It showed how the ‘number’ they’d found on my old phone was linked to her.
The video of the gangbang came up next, and in the end… the very end where no one’s ever seen, it showed her taking off her wig and slipping to the floor, all covered in sweat and cum.
I gasped.
Goddess, I knew that I had always suspected his outcome, but I still gasped because I couldn’t control the shock I felt upon learning that my suspicions were true.
Heck, I was satisfied.
However, do you know what was even more satisfactory?
The looks on my parents’ faces. The shocked looks on Kael and Zevran’s faces.
-And the embarrassment on Chalice’s.
She could not move. She could not speak. She simply sat there like a statue, shaking as

she tried to force incoherent words out of her mouth and failed woefully.
My heart filled with warmth when Father slowly sat down, his face red with embarrassment. I watched him as he planted his hands on his face, and maybe this was supposed to be the part where I would feel pity for him. The part where I should’ve let bygones be bygones… But no.
I smirked.
“It has now been established that all the so-called evidence against my client was false, and for this, I am pushing that because the defendants are guilty of the said crimes, they should be charged for emotional, mental and physical abuse of my client… including battery. They ought to also pay for the damages their negligence caused to her reputation, her overall health and wellbeing, and—”
“Objection, my Lord!” Father’s lawyer growled, but before she could continue, the judge waved her off and spat;
“Objection overruled.”
My smile widened.
My lawyer then continued to speak, but at this point, I was no longer listening. I’ve gotten all I wanted and more. From my peripheral, I noticed the Alphas staring straight at me, their gazes intense and hot. They looked like they had a lot to say, but I definitely had nothing left to say to them.
By this time, Chalice had begun to cry hysterically, her sobs echoing throughout the

room,
The sound of something heavy hitting the table snapped me out of my reverie and when I looked up, I realized that the judge was already pronouncing their sentence.
I had been so lost, I didn’t hear most of what she’s been saying, but from where I began to listen, I heard her say;
“…so to this effect, the Blackthorne family are forced to cut all ties with Ms Leilani Sinclair. They are to compensate her with a sum of eighty million dollars for all damages caused to her.”
“That’s not possible!”
“Mr Malakai, Blackthorne, you are sentenced to Two years imprisonment in the dark cells, and will only be eligible for parole from your eighteenth month… and Mrs Blackthorne, you are sentenced to one year imprisonment and six months of

community service for negligence and enablement.”
Resounding gasps sounded all around us and I knew… I just knew that it had to be
them.
“As for Ms Chalice Blackthorne, now Luna Stormborn, usually, the court should sentence you to life imprisonment with hard labor; But you’re pregnant with the Alphas’ pup or pups and the pack rules the city. So your sentence would be left to the Alphas.”
Something akin to anger coiled at the base of my stomach as soon as I heard that, but my anger soon turned into amusement when Zevran rose quickly. He snapped;
“She’s a few months into her pregnancy. Two Three? I don’t know and I don’t care. But henceforth, she is sentenced to community service… and a month after the baby is born, she should be taken into custody. She’s our wife, yes. She’s our Luna, true. But she has committed a crime against the goddess, humanity and us… and for that, she should be punished. Severely.” 4
The look on Chalice’s face had me choking down my laughter. I dropped my head and smiled- smiling even harder when she fainted.
But do you know what was funnier?
The fact that no one moved an inch even after she fainted. It felt as though they were all already used to it. Like it was nothing new
Mothers cries however tore through the atmosphere and for the first time in my entire life, she turned to me pleadingly and rasped;
“Please Leilani…”
I froze.
“Please! We’ve realized how wrong we were to you! I now understand my mistakes and I apologize!”
For a moment, I couldn’t speak. I couldn’t move: all I felt was an irresistible urge to smack her face against the floor.
My body shook with rage, and my lawyer, probably thinking it was fear, clamped her hand over my shoulder.
She whispered; “What do you say, Leilani?”
