183 Agnes in agony
183 Agnes in agony…
Caelum.
Icy cold wind blew against my face as I walked through a dark alleyway. It was so dark and so quiet, the only sounds I heard were that of my feet hitting the ground.
I was on unfamiliar grounds, I knew, but no matter how hard I tried to stop walking. I couldn’t. I felt compelled. It felt like there was a force greater than me pulling me towards a very small light at the end of the hallway.
If this was a nightmare, I didn’t know. All I knew was that I could t control my feet anymore, nor the way goosebumps sprouted all over my skin.
I trudged forward slowly, my limbs sinking and emerging from the knee deep snow, only for the process to start all over again.
Suddenly, I stopped when I smelled something familiar… something mouthwatering. With my ears perked up, I made my way closer and closer to this smell that has managed to make my wolf suddenly antsy. But as soon as I found what it was, I stopped.
My breath hitched and my chest, already tight felt tighter.
“Leilani?” I called out softly, worried that this was my eyes simply playing pranks on
At the sound of my voice, she turned around slowly and beamed a smile at me.
Something about her smile made my heart flutter in my chest, and goddess, I couldn’t control the way my lips spread out as well, as if compelled. I smiled too.
“What are you doing here?” I finally managed to ask, walking even closer to her and noticing how her scent seemed to intensify with each step I took forward.
Now, every fibre of my being was growling. They were wild, stretched taut and burning as if set ablaze with the need to touch her… to feel her.
When she closed her eyes and sighed, I felt her warm ticklish breath fan my face… and goodness, it was exhilarating.
“What are you doing here?” I asked again, and this time, she looked up at me and smiled.
“I came for you.”

“For me?” I asked incredulously, my brows shooting higher up into my hairline as I stared pointedly at her. “Why?”
She shook her head slowly, causing her ethereally beautiful silver hair to dance around her head like something straight out of a fairytale then she said; “Because you’ve stayed here for too long, Caelum. How do I forgive you if you wouldn’t even wake up?” She purred, the sound of her voice sending jolts of pleasure through my body, and straight to my groin.
I bit my lower lip and squeezed my eyes shut. Deep down, I knew that this was a dream. That Leilani would never be this soft… this nice… this calm around me. But the
dream was too sweet. Too lovely and beautiful. I didn’t want to wake up.
“Will you be there when I wake up?” I took the risk by asking and her soft laugh floated around me before she planted her index finger on my lips and whispered;
“Wake up first.”
Her skin against mine sent jolts of electricity shooting out from the spot where our skins touched. And hell I wanted to keep her here with me forever. I wanted to feel he hands upon my skin forever. I tried to hold her…
But suddenly, the ground under my feet tilted.
And I fell.
I fell for a very long time without knowledge of how much time had passed.
Until my eyes snapped open and I found myself staring face to face with…
“Caelum?”
Kael. It was fucking Kael.
Not Leilani.
I hissed. Goddamnit!
Leilani.
I shoved my hands deep into my pockets as I looked up at the snow falling steadily from the sky whilst imagining that I was the one having a free fall.
The cold wind against my face felt like heaven so I closed my eyes for a brief moment, revelling in the feeling of having the soft cold material against my skin and wondering… wondering how much longer it would take for this girl to show up.

Aty teeth clattered when a strong wind blow but just as soon as it picked up, it calmed again.
*I’m so so sorry I was late! A familiar voice called out and I spun around with a smile that instantly froze up on my lips as soon as saw the face,
It was Agnes alright but something about her seemed different. Something about her blackened eye, burst lip and swollen nose made me feel more than a little on edge.
My heart jumped in my chest but not in a good way: And for a very brief moment, I forgot all about why I was here and took her hands in mine, my voice soft as I asked; “What happened?”
Agnes smiled at me but said nothing immediately. Instead she ducked her head shyly and shook her head. “Nothing”
But this didn’t look like nothing. My body shook with rage, urgency slipping into my voice as I took a step forward and asked; “Agnes?”
“Huh?”
“You can talk to me.”
Maybe that was all it took to get her to crumble right in front of me. Maybe those were words that she’d been dying to hear for hours and failing. Her shoulders hunched over as tears streamed down her face, and with her body shaking violently, she cried;
“They found out it was me.”
“Who found out it was you?” I snapped, unsure of what she was talking about.
She hiccuped and wiped her face with the back of her hands, her body trembling as she whispered; “Your parents. They found out I was behind the leaked footage, and I fear that they may be following me now.”
At that, my heart plummeted. I froze. “Are you sure?”
“On my hardened nipples, yes.” She muttered her swollen eyes pooling with more tears again.
On a normal day, I would’ve smiled. I knew that she was trying to make a joke. I knew that she was doing all of these to make me- and herself- feel better. But I couldn’t feel better when someone was literally in danger.
I couldn’t when she was hurt, battered and going through something I knew too well how terrible it could be.
