Fated To Three Betrayed By All Until She Rose (Leilani) by Ahvahh novel Chapter 235

235 The perfect dress.

Leilani.

“I do not wish to be here,” I said to myself for the hundredth time as I stepped into the heavily decorated hall bursting with all the prominent figures from Stormborn pack, as well as a few from Frostclaw pack who happened to be some of Maya’s friends and relatives.

And gosh, I hated how my heart raced against my chest. Hated the way the corset of my dress gripped my midriff a little too tightly. I also hated the way my presence seemed to cause such a stir, and as I stood by the doorway, trying to calm my raging heartbeat- and failing woefully, I felt the irresistible urge to turn away.

I wanted to leave.

To never return.

To simply send my gifts and wishes to them and call it a day…

“Lani?!” A familiar voice suddenly called my name, pulling me out of the self-induced panic that I’d been lost in.

I lifted my head slowly and when my eyes landed on Maya, a small smile spread across my face.

Why?

Because she looked breathtaking!

Because she was the most absolutely fucking beautiful person I’ve ever seen in my entire life.

Her elegant pink hair was styled into the most adorable chignon, and her smile was so bright it complimented the shiny sexy dark red dress she was wearing.

“You came!” She sounded so elated to see me, and

before I could even respond to that, she pulled me into a hug and pressed her lips against my

forehead, blissfully ignoring the stares and side glances that our little performance was

attracting.

“I didn’t know you would come!” she continued, her voice thick with emotion; And in that moment, all of the thugs I had earlier washed away, and now, I was pleased with myself that I hadn’t allowed my panic to get the best of me.

“Of course I would come!” I squealed, “why would you even think otherwise?!”

Her facial expression told me exactly why she would think that way, but deciding to let it slide, I looped my arm in hers and pulled her away from the door, my smile feeling less forced now as I drawled; “And how do you do?”

She sighed. “Better now that you’re here.”

Her words, her actions and holy goddess, the fact that I had indeed seen my name twelve times on her guest list made my heart swell with warmth.

I could still remember the surprise on my face and on the face of the bodyguards standing outside when they realized that I was the ‘Ms Leilani Sinclair’, the woman whose name had appeared twelve times on a guest list containing less than three hundred names.

When I mentioned this to her, she simply threw her head back and laughed; and then she pulled me into another hug before burying her face into the crook of my neck. She sighed; “I’m not good with words, Lani. Just know that I missed you so

damn much.”

“I missed you too.”

“Shh…!” She interrupted me quietly, “…I want you to know that I would do anything for you too, including calling off this wedding if that is what it’ll take for you to feel better.”

Her words made the warmth spreading across my chest bloom even stronger. I shook my head and

whispered; “I would feel better if you go on with

the wedding as planned. I would really feel better if you and Gavin live a good life… and don’t worry, you’ll get tired of me soon. I’ve just been having it a bit rough lately.”

“And do you promise to talk to me about it when you get the chance?”

“Of course!”

“Don’t just ‘of course’ me, Leilani!” She snapped, rolling her eyes, “pinky promise me!”

Her words made a few people around turn to us and I could only smile as my eyes dropped from her face to her pinky finger. However, a chuckle escaped my lips when she pushed the finger even closer to my face and as I looped my pinky with hers, I couldn’t help but feel better… lighter.

Warmer.

“Leilani?”

“You left without informing anyone.”

At that, she froze, slowly turned to him and bowed her head as she murmured; “I didn’t want to disturb anyone with my shenanigans.”

“Do you not realize that you’re not allowed to ve the house?” He barked, causing her to

ch; But from here, I couldn’t tell if she was faking that as well or if she was indeed scared.

She shuddered; “I know, but…”

“Yet you left!” He snarled and this time, she shrunk into herself even more.

“I’m sorry, Kael.”

“Yes I know you’re sorry,” he drawled, “…but to ensure that you do not leave the house whenever you wish next time, you would be punished.”

As soon as he said that, the room descended into

silence.
