Faux Vows, True Desires novel Chapter 549

Good times always seem to fly by, don't they? As the sun dipped below the horizon, signaling the approach of night, Pinehurst remained lively and bustling. Over in Skywatch, Lucinda hurriedly slipped on a jacket as the evening chill set in. Under the same blue sky, at the same hour, the temperatures varied from place to place.

Sitting on the porch swing, Lucinda watched as the sky swiftly transitioned to darkness, all the while chatting on the phone with her best friend. "So, you guys are coming over this weekend?" Lucinda's voice was filled with excitement upon hearing Cecilia's news.

Skywatch was her home, filled with cherished family. Although she had adapted to life there, even thriving, Lucinda still preferred the people and the atmosphere of Pinehurst. Cecilia chuckled, "When have I ever lied to you? Is there anything you need me to bring? Or maybe some of Pinehurst's famous apple pies or homemade jams?"

"I'll call Fiona and see if she needs anything sent her way," Cecilia added without missing a beat. Lucinda didn't hold back, listing all her cravings. "Cecilia, am I asking for too much?" she asked sheepishly.

"No matter how much you want, I'll bring it. But are you sure you want me to bring all these rural goodies? Won't your fancy relatives look down their noses at you?" Lucinda was now the esteemed lady of the Blue family, after all. The Anderson family, with their sprawling farms and homegrown produce, could appreciate Lucinda's taste for rustic delights. The Blue family, however, might not be so down-to-earth.

"Honestly, I couldn't care less about their opinions. I eat what I like, and if they don't like it, they don't have to look," Lucinda said, a hint of defiance in her tone. Cecilia laughed, "Lucy, you're becoming quite the fierce lady. The perfect Blue family heiress!"

"Oh, stop it," Lucinda replied, bursting into laughter with her friend. After the laughter subsided, she asked, "Is your husband flying you over in the private jet? I wonder if my parents would like to come along. Would that be okay?"

Despite frequent phone calls, Lucinda longed to see her adoptive parents. It had only been a few days apart, yet it felt like years. "Of course, it would be my pleasure," Cecilia said warmly. "I'd bring Mason and Madison Moore over in a heartbeat. Hey, why don't we invite Darlene too?"

"Yes, please!" Lucinda beamed, thrilled at the thought. Belinda, her soon-to-be sister-in-law, might come along with her brother if her parents visited. They wouldn't leave Darlene behind, for sure.

"Consider it done." "Okay." Hanging up the phone, Lucinda turned to the man gently pushing her swing. "Stefan, Cecilia's coming over this weekend."

"I heard," Stefan replied affectionately. "Let me call my mom," Lucinda said, barely containing her excitement as she dialed home, where Vincent Moore answered.

"Dad." "Lucy, hang on, your grandma wants to talk to you," Vincent said, passing the phone to his mother. Mason, who was watching TV nearby, came over. Television forgotten, he tried to grab the phone, only to be playfully swatted away by his wife. "Lucy, have you eaten? Is everything alright over there?" he called out.
