Find me in your labyrinth (Stella and Jonathan) novel Chapter 3688

She was absolutely fuming. "Even if you 'forgot', do you really think it's appropriate for you to just let yourself into someone else's apartment whenever you feel like it?"

Carson answered as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "I'm just here to make soup for my fiancée!"

Marina stared at him, letting out a dark, mocking laugh. "Are you completely unaware of how toxic your soup actually is?"

That comment visibly wounded Carson's pride. "Is it really that bad?"

Marina's face was completely deadpan. "It's essentially biological warfare."

Carson scooped a small amount into a spoon and took a sip. Immediately, his brow furrowed in deep concentration. He muttered to himself, "That makes no sense. I followed the chef's instructions step-by-step. I didn't skip a single ingredient."

Seeing how frustrated he looked finally brought a small measure of satisfaction to Marina's chest. She spun on her heel and marched to her bedroom.

By the time she showered and changed into comfortable clothes, Carson was still in the kitchen aggressively analyzing his soup. Marina completely ignored him and locked herself in the study to get some work done.

An hour later, Carson knocked on the study door. "Marina, come out and eat!"

"Not hungry!" Marina rejected him coldly.

"There's no point in starving yourself just to spite me!" Carson leaned casually against the doorframe, his voice low and teasing. "I actually called Rhiannon to ask for her secret tips on making the broth. Come out and see if this batch is any better."

Seconds later, the study door was violently yanked open. Marina stared at him in utter horror. "Who did you call?"

"My future mother-in-law," Carson replied with a soft, infuriatingly charming smile. "She knows your taste better than anyone. When I told her I was making soup for you, she was absolutely thrilled."

Marina glared at him, her eyes burning with pure rage. "Carson, what the hell is your endgame here?"

Carson locked eyes with her. The casual, arrogant smirk slowly vanished from his face, replaced by a dark, consuming intensity. He enunciated every single word. "I am going to marry you."

Marina sucked in a sharp breath, her eyes flashing like ice. "Keep dreaming!"

She reached out to slam the door in his face.
