Chapter 1
My five brothers–all Alpha–rank within the Silvermoon Pack–were utterly head over heels for our adopted sister, Emily Carter.
When I pressed the rune–engraved Alpha crest, forged by my five brothers, into Emily’s palm.
“It suits you perfectly. You look just like their little princess,” I said, my voice icy.
These were the exact words my brothers had once cooed to me in the den, back when I still believed their promises.
All five froze, their alpha auras spiking in shock.
They knew this crest was my most cherished possession–the first gift they’d ever made for me, etched with protective runes during a blood moon ritual.
Panic flickered in their scents.
In my past life, whenever Emily framed me, they’d overcompensate by showering her with snatching away my favorite trinkets and magic potions, convinced this would make me “behave.”
Each punishment for Emily’s sake earned a new scratch on the crest’s obsidian surface.
When they asked about the marks, I’d laughed,
“When you hit a hundred, I’ll leave.”
But I just turn to leave, the crest’s absence a welcome weight lifted from my chest.
“Don’t worry,” I call over my shoulder, my voice as cold and flat as a tombstone..
“You won’t have to see me again.”
This all because my five Alpha bros know I’m their blood sister, but they still play favorites with our Beta stepsis.
They think Emily’s brother died saving me in a fire, so I owe her my life“.
