Chapter 115
Emily accepted the gift, a sweet smile gracing her lips as she softly said, “Thank you, brothers. Your generosity is appreciated.”
Her she–wolf purred with satisfaction.
Jared had already lavished her with the Moonstone Heart, leaving only Caleb without a gift. Everyone’s gaze instinctively shifted to him.
Caleb unconsciously clenched the gift box in his pocket, frowning, hesitation in his eyes. His wolf wrestled with guilt and a persistent longing for me. He’d intended this for Emily, but his conflicting emotions caused him to hesitate.
Emily noticed his struggle; resentment, sharp as a wolf’s claw, stirred within her. He still thinks of Isabella!* Her she–wolf growled silently.
But outwardly, she smiled gently and understandingly.
“Caleb, did you forget the gift? It’s alright; your presence is enough.” Her she–wolf played the gracious victim.
Her thoughtfulness and understanding softened Caleb. He wondered if his suspicions about Emily were mistaken; maybe he was being overly sensitive.
His wolf questioned its own judgment.
Taking a deep breath, he finally resolved to produce the gift box.
“How could I forget? I merely observed their gifts and feared you might not favor mine.”
Emily carefully opened the box, revealing a delicate brooch, set with a flawless moonstone. Under the soft light, the moonstone glowed with an ethereal luminescence.
A satisfied smile curved her lips.
She looked up, her eyes brimming with grateful tears, and sincerely said, “Thank you, Caleb! It’s exquisite; I will
treasure it.”
Her wolf felt a surge of triumph.
Caleb nodded, absentmindedly accessing his communicator.
He scrolled through various images of crafted artifacts. But none–jewelry or weaponry–matched the gift he’d chosen for Emily. His wolf felt a pang of guilt.
Emily noticed his actions; her gaze fixed on his communicator. She didn’t see the specific image, but she knew he was either communicating with me or selecting a gift for me.
Her she–wolf sharpened its claws.
She was formulating a plan to sabotage him when Alexander suddenly interrupted.

With a warm smile, he asked, “How are the preparations for next moon’s crafting competition progressing? My competition just concluded; I could accompany you and offer my support.”
At his words, Emily froze; panic, cold as winter, flashed in her eyes. Without my designs, how could she participate in the competition? Her she–wolf panicked.
She lowered her head, her voice soft and hesitant.
“The competition… I believe I shall not participate.”
Alexander frowned, confusion etching itself onto his handsome face as he pressed, “Why not?”
Emily bit her lip, her eyes misty. She looked at him with a pitiful expression.
It is Isabella’s position…”
Marn
“That position was rightfully hers! She should apologize to you!” Alexander’s face darkened; he slammed his fist on the table, his voice sharp. His wolf roared its anger.
“Is she refusing to relinquish it?”
A triumphant gleam flashed in Emily’s eyes, but she quickly reverted to her pitiful demeanor. She shook her head slightly, her tone filled with manufactured conflict and turmoil.
“Alexander, please do not cause further strife for Isabella. She has already departed the den because of this…”
Alexander’s face darkened; a cold glint, like ice, hardened his eyes as he asked icily, “What transpired?” His wolf sensed something was amiss.
