Chapter 125
Alexander frowned, displeasure flickering in his eyes. His voice dropped, laced with a threat.“Family doesn’t discuss kindness and animosity!”
“Oh really?” I sneered. “When you need me, I’m family. When you don’t, I’m ungrateful? Your logic is remarkable.”
My sarcasm dripped as I looked between them.
“Don’t you have another she–wolf? Even if she’s not blood–bonded, she’s clearly more valuable. Why not she make broth and soothe Caleb? My words cut deep.
I tilted my head, sarcasm in my eyes.
“Or is Emily unwilling?”
Alexander’s face darkened; anger blazed.
He yelled, “Emily’s busy! She has important tasks; she can’t waste time on trivialities!”
His words struck me like daggers.
I looked at my once closest brother, bitterness flooding me.
Even though I’d given up on them, his words still ached.
Emily’s time was precious; mine expendable?
The injustice fueled my rage.
My wolf bared its teeth silently.
I took a deep breath, my voice cold and resolute.
“I’m not your sister anymore.”
I turned to leave, but a strong paw seized my arm. Jared’s voice was a growl.
“Stop! Did I give you permission to leave?”
Pain shot through my arm. I looked up, meeting Jared’s eyes, my tone calm but warning.
“Mr. Miller, there are Pack Council runes here. If you don’t let go, I’ll summon the Elders.”
I pulled out my comm–stone, my finger poised to activate the alarm.
Jared didn’t expect my icy resolve; shock flickered across his face, morphing into fury. His eyes were bloodshot as he swatted my comm–stone away. It crashed to the ground, the crystal screen shattering.
“Isabella, you’d summon the Elders on me?!” he roared, incredulous.
My gaze shifted from the broken comm–stone to the distance.
He grabbed my arm, shaking me violently.“Look at me!”
I was forced to meet his gaze, cold detachment in my eyes.
“Caleb is in the Healing Den, and you don’t visit… do you have no pack loyalty at all?” His tone shifted from accusation to hesitancy.

“You…were you piloting the drone that day?”
He locked eyes with me, a mixture of anticipation, unease, and a hint of fear in his expression.
My wolf felt a thrill of power.

I looked at him, a sarcastic smirk playing on my lips. My voice was cold. A high–quality Brightstone comm–stone, worth thirteen thousand.
Damaging another pack member’s property valued over three thousand is a crime under the Ancient Pact.”
My wolf let out a silent snarl of triumph.
