Five Alphas Kneel for Me (Isabella) novel Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Hey, wake up, the little princess of the Miller family,Grayson said, his voice a low rumble that vibrated through the air.

Did your brothers go bankrupt? Did they send you out to scam?

His scent, sharp and predatory, filled my nostrils.

My wolf whimpered, instinctively recoiling from his overwhelming presence.

I struggled to open my eyes, gazing up at his infuriatingly handsome face.

My voice was hoarse.

Yes, theythey lost everything! Please, take me to the Pack Healer.

Seriously? Trying to fool me? Besides, why should I help you?His wolf sneered, its dominance palpable.

It’s fine if you don’t,I said, lacking the strength to argue.

My body ached, my wolf weak and listless.

Or could you at least move me to a more comfortable place?

My shewolf was desperate for warmth and safety.

Justdon’t send me back to the Miller den.

With that, I closed my eyes and passed out.

When I awoke, Grayson sat on a stool across from my bed in the Pack Healer’s den.

Exquisitely handsome, his face was like a masterpiece carved from moonlight and shadow, yet his arrogance remained.

His powerful frame was relaxed, and he was engrossed in a game of strategy etched into a bone tablet.

When he noticed I was awake, his cold eyes swept over me.

You’re running around with a moonfever. Impressive!he said.

The amusement in his voice grated on my nerves.

One might think the Miller family’s princess is resorting to scavenging for scraps. His wolf chuckled, a low growl in the back of his throat.

I glared at him, this infuriatingly sarcastic Alpha.

My throat felt like sandpaper, and my body ached.

All I could manage was a furious glare.

Seeing my anger, a glint of something akin to amusement flashed in his eyes.

Not wanting to tease me further, he gestured to a small table nearby.

There’s porridge.

I opened my eyes slightly, glancing at the table.

A steaming bowl of healing porridge, infused with herbs and potent moonflower petals, sat there.

My eyes instantly stung with tears; I recalled the last time I was illleft unattended for days, weak and alone.

Who would have thought that he, our family’s nemesis, had brought me here and even prepared this nourishing porridge for me?

I slowly sat up, struggling to lift the small wooden spoon.

The warm, savory porridge eased my throat, filling me with warmth.

My wolf tentatively licked at the bowl.

Thank you,I whispered, my voice barely audible.

Grayson raised an eyebrow, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.

You’re welcome! Five sunstones a bowl. Settle the debt after you’ve finished.

He tapped his bone tablet and held it out to me.

His wolf’s amusement was clear in the way he held himself.

I froze.

II have no sunstones. My wolf whimpered, mortified by my poverty.
