Chapter 160
My eyes darkened; my wolf’s fury ignited. I had to end Emily’s design career; she needed to be held accountable for her actions. My wolf’s claws extended, digging into my palms.
I looked at them coldly, smirking.
“Finished talking? Then leave. See you at the moonstone fashion show!” My wolf felt a thrill of anticipation.
“Wait!” Alexander spun around, his eyes sharp and accusatory. His wolf’s scent was a volatile mix of anger and possessiveness.“I won’t pursue the entry, but these moonstones must be returned! I made Emily pay just to show you she’s not a pushover. But I’m unhappy
with these moonstones–they must be returned!”
His wolf’s growl was low and menacing.
I looked at them with utter contempt and disdain.
“If you can’t afford it, don’t pretend to be fancy. You’re so pretentious.” My wolf felt a surge of disdain for their hypocrisy.
The surrounding she–wolves and he–wolves, remembering Emily and Linda’s arrogance, nodded in agreement. Whispers spread through the crowd.
“She’s right; I was there; they were so arrogant; the she–wolf was so polite; they wanted to leave after acting superior; it was
outrageous!”
The one acting pitiful was the adopted daughter, right?”
“Yes, and the sales she–wolf serving her was the real heiress of the Miller pack! How could they do that?”
Alexander’s temples throbbed; his fists clenched, his knuckles white. He glared at me, his chest heaving. His wolf’s scent was a storm of anger and frustration.
“You don’t understand, don’t talk nonsense! Isabella owes Emily! Emily’s brother saved her…”
His wolf’s desperation was palpable.
“Speaking of which,‘ I said playfully, addressing Alexander but looking at Emily.
My wolf felt a surge of righteous anger.
“Mr. Miller, your sister seems short on moonstones; isn’t her allowance enough? She lives off the Miller pack, drinks their finest wines, wears your luxury furs year–round. If she’s so broke, where’s the money going?” My wolf’s words were barbed, aimed to strike at their carefully constructed image.
Alexander frowned, instinctively looking at Emily. His wolf’s concern was clear.
Under the light of the full moon, her face turned pale; she nervously twisted her fingers, her eyes darting to the floor. Her wolf’s scent was laced with fear and guilt.
“Where did her money go?”
The question hung in the air, heavy with unspoken accusations.
My gaze was intense; with each word, Emily trembled more.
Her wolf was cowering. Alexander thought I was accusing Xi Xi of spending Miller pack funds, making her uncomfortable. He immediately pulled her into his arms, glaring at me with a low, threatening growl. His wolf’s protective instincts were strong.

“Mind your own business!”

“I don’t care how much you spend on her,” I sneered, my gaze sharp and unwavering. My wolf’s fangs were bared, barely concealed.
“But she stole moonstones from Jared’s team and blamed me; that concerns me; so I investigated…”
“Stealing?!” Alexander couldn’t bear hearing me criticize Emily; he yelled, his voice raw with rage.
His wolf’s protective instincts had completely taken over.“Don’t talk like that! It’s Miller pack moonstones; Emily is a Miller pack member; so what if she took some?”
Emily lowered her head, her lips pressed together. Alexander’s protectiveness pleased her, but she dared not show it. She glanced at me, afraid I’d reveal more.
Her wolf’s fear was palpable. She resented me for discovering her secrets! My wolf felt a cold satisfaction. Hiding behind Alexander, she glared at me with hatred. Her wolf’s scent was a potent blend of fear and resentment.
