Five Alphas Kneel for Me (Isabella) novel Chapter 182

Chapter 182

He picked up a sliver of roasted elk, dropping it into my bowl. His voice softened, Eat.

His anger had faded.

My own wolf felt the shift in his energy, a calming wave rippling through the air, a testament to his genuine change.

I picked up my fork, the tender meat melting on my tongue. The familiar taste soothed my tense nerves.Grayson, eat,I said, placing some salmon in his bowl, a genuine smile gracing my lips.

His wolf, I sensed, mirrored my own relief.

Grayson looked at me, his eyes holding a tenderness that could disarm the fiercest Alpha. He savored the fish, as if it were a sacred offering. We ate in companionable silence, the atmosphere thick with unspoken understanding.

Alexander, found guilty of pupsnatching by the Pack Council, faced a lengthy sentence in the Moonstone Prison.

Jared, frantic, contacted every legal representative he could find, desperate to lessen Alexander’s punishment, but the responses were bleak. The heavy sky and brooding clouds mirrored the gloom hanging over the Miller family.

My own wolf sensed the exhaustion radiating off him- bloodshot eyes, untamed fur, a haunted look etched on his features. He ran a hand through his unkempt hair, collapsing onto a bench, his mind a maelstrom of worry. He knew Alexander’s transgression was grave; he knew I wouldn’t easily forgive him, but he couldn’t bear the thought of Alexander imprisoned.

He felt compelled to act.

Desperate, he sought Smith’s secluded longhouse. This time, he approached with humility, initiating contact via the Howlnet. The servant answered the video call.Tell Miss Miller that Jared is here,he pleaded, his voice lacking its usual arrogance.

The servant’s response was impassive, her tone frigid.Mr. Miller, the Master has forbidden your entry.

He attempted to reason, but the servant remained resolute, terminating the connection.

He paced restlessly outside, his frustration palpable. His howl echoed through the silent grove,

Isabella, I know you’re here! Please see me! Alexander was wrong; he truly regrets it! Please forgive him!

Inside, bathed in the golden light streaming through the window, I was curled up with a leatherbound tome, my focus undisturbed.

His cry reached me, causing a fleeting frown. I lowered the book, approaching the window.

I saw him, but felt nothing no surge of emotion, no shift in my wolf’s heart. I understood his reason for being here, and I knew Alexander’s fate- I would not intervene.

I returned to my seat, resuming my reading. I imagined he’d abandon his plea if he couldn’t see me.

But the next day, he reappeared, blocking my path as I traveled by wolfdrawn cart, his haggard appearance even more pronounced, his tone desperate. Isabella, please help Alexander! He’s done so much wrong, but he truly regrets it! He won’t do it again!

I stared at him through the window, my gaze icy,

my wolf’s senses sharp and unforgiving.

Did he truly regret it?

My wolf snarled inwardly.

The question hung heavy in the air.

Jared’s posture slumped.

Alexanderno. My wolf rejected the idea instantly.
