Chapter237.
Andrew’s face flickered like a shifting moon–pale and flushed, unpredictable. His wolf’s eyes, usually warm amber, were now a stormy grey. He stared fixedly at me, his alpha’s pride wounded, realizing I was serious. If he dared refuse, I’d expose his breach of the ancient pack laws, Andrew’s betrayal of our blood bond, and his failure to pay the agreed upon compensation.
My own wolf snarled, a low rumble in my chest, a primal urge to dominate.
“Isabella! Good, very good!” Andrew gritted his teeth, the words laced with barely controlled fury. My own wolf felt a thrill of victory.
I remained unmoved, extending my paw, saying word by word, “Andrew, give me the equity transfer contract.”
My voice was steady, projecting the unwavering resolve of my inner wolf.
Andrew looked at Grayson beside him. He could usually use his elder brother status to pressure me. But in front of Grayson, a rival alpha, he couldn’t afford to lose face! My wolf sensed the tension, the clash of alpha wills.
Andrew clenched his jaw, suppressing his anger, and finally squeezed out a sentence from between his teeth:“Fine, I’ll give it to you.” He turned and walked into the den. Soon, he came out holding a parchment.
He handed it to me coldly.“This is the share transfer contract. Once you take this, you’re no longer a member of the Silvermoon Pack!” He glared at me, hoping I would be sensible and back down. He’d used this tactic when I clashed with Emily, relying on my fear of losing my pack.
But this time, my wolf roared its defiance. I directly took the contract from his hand.
Andrew tried to snatch it back but failed. My claws, sharp and instinctive, were ready. I carefully examined the document, confirmed it was legitimate, then signed my name. From now on, these shares of Silvermoon Pack truly belonged to me.
I handed a copy back to Andrew.
“Alright, Alpha Miller, our accounts are settled.” I turned, took Grayson’s hand–his fur, normally black as night, now seemed to shimmer with power–and prepared to leave.
“Isabella! Once you leave, I will never let you come back! Don’t regret it!”
I stopped, slowly turning around, looking at Andrew, a mocking curve on my lips. My wolf tasted the sweetness of victory.
“Regret?” I chuckled softly, full of disdain and contempt.“Regret leaving and not being able to work for someone who colluded with Marcus to harm me? Or regret leaving and not being able to be bullied and mistreated by you anymore?”
“No, I won’t regret it. I will make you regret it! I will get back everything I lost, step by step, dragging you all into the abyss!” My voice wasn’t loud, but every word was sharp and firm, carrying the weight of my wolf’s promise.
“Just you?”
“Huh– A low chuckle suddenly sounded.
Grayson’s wolf scent, a musky, captivating blend, filled my senses, overpowering even Andrew’s.
“Isabella was never alone, she has me.”
I clenched Grayson’s hand, feeling his fingertips gently stroking the back of my paw, and I felt an overwhelming sense of security.
My wolf purred, content and fiercely loyal.
Andrew’s face was ashen, his gaze fixed on our clasped paws.
“Huh, well then, I’ll just wait and see how much you’re willing to sacrifice for an outsider,” he sneered.
Grayson raised his chin, refusing to yield.“That’s definitely more than what you gave Emily.”
Andrew stood up abruptly.
“You!”
But facing Grayson’s cold and noble expression, he steadied himself and sneered,
“She’s just a spoiled rich she–wolf who’s been coddled. Besides a beneficial blood bond, she’s useless! And even that usefulness will disappear now that she’s left the Silvermoon Pack!”
Hearing his cruel words, I trembled slightly.
My wolf felt a pang of hurt, a reminder of the past. Immediately, Grayson gripped my paw even tighter.
“Only incompetent wolves care about what others can bring them. I’m different. I just want a sister to spoil and cherish, Grayson said casually, with a reckless charm that sent shivers down my spine, a primal response to his alpha dominance.
