Anything would be fine, as long as he could make amends.
My wolf snarled internally.
His remorse felt…thin.

However, I sneered, “Jared, belated affection is worthless. I, Isabella, don’t need it!” My tone was resolute, leaving no room for compromise. My claws extended slightly, a barely perceptible `shift beneath my fur.
“Also, don’t come to Silvermoon Pack unless necessary. This place doesn’t welcome the Miller pack!”
I coldly walked away from Jared.
The weight of his betrayal pressed down on me, heavy as a winter snowfall.
My every muscle ached with the effort to contain my rage.
He suppressed his inner pain.“Isabella, I really know I was wrong. Let me make it up to you, okay?” His voice was tight with unshed grief. Almost as soon as he finished speaking, I suddenly turned and ran towards him–a desperate hope flickering within my chest. Was it the scent of his wolf that drew me? Was it a sliver of the connection we once shared?
Jared’s nose twitched, catching my scent.
His heart pounded faster, a surge of joy flooding his chest, and he almost lost his voice as he called out,“Isabella—”
His wolf howled in triumphant anticipation.
I actually turned back! Did I hear his wolf’s plea for forgiveness, buried beneath his words?
He hastily opened his arms, wanting to embrace his beloved sister, wanting to hold onto this hard–won familial bond!
However, I, like. a
gust of wind, passed him, rushing out of Silvermoon Pack territory towards the waiting black car.
My escape was swift, born of both lingering hurt and a desperate need for escape.
Jared froze in place, his arms still outstretched, his smile frozen on his face, eyes wide with shock and confusion. His wolf whimpered, a low, guttural sound of despair.
He abruptly turned to see the car window slowly lowering, revealing Grayson’s handsome face.
My smile was softer than moonlight, warmer than the midday sun.
My smile was genuine, unburdened by the years of tension within the Miller pack.
Jared’s heart trembled. He remembered that when I still in the Miller pack, I hadn’t smiled like this for a long time. Only after leaving the Miller pack did smiles appear more frequently on my face!
“Grayson!” I said cheerfully, with a sweet, coquettish tone.
My voice, laced with pheromones, was a clear signal of my allegiance.
Once upon a time, I used to call him sweetly-
“Jared, take me out to play.”
“Jared, you can definitely do it. Just charge forward, I’ll provide technical support!” The sweet and lively she–wolf in his memory gradually became burdened with worries-
“Jared, it’s really not me. How could I hurt Emily?”
“Jared, please, don’t change my position on the main hunting party. I’ve worked so hard…”
“Jared…”
I opened the car door and happily got in.
“Bang!” The door slammed shut, and Jared could no longer see me! His wolf howled in agony, a sound lost in the wind.
He instinctively tried to chase after me, but the car sped away.
His wolf’s scent was fading fast.
His g
gaze fell on the scattered food on the ground. It turned out that I no longer needed their offerings; I already had someone better. I had waited for them for so long, yet they still lost me.
His wolf’s heart shattered into a million pieces.
Jared didn’t know how he left Silvermoon Pack territory.

All he could think about was my smiling face in front of Grayson, like warm sunlight, and the cold, icy eyes he saw when he looked at him- like the glacial stare of a predator.
He returned to the hospital in a daze, walking to Caleb’s ward.
“Caleb is inside. Why can’t I see him?”
Hearing a familiar voice, Jared looked up. He saw Emily standing at the ward door, arguing with a pack guard.
The guard, expressionless, like a statue carved from granite, blocked the door, mechanically repeating, “It’s Alpha Miller’s orders: no one except him is allowed inside.”
