Chapter260.
Seeing Andrew turn his head, she immediately adopted a pure, innocent, and hurt expression, covering her face and weeping.
Her wolf expertly crafted a display of vulnerability.”Caleb loves me so much, how could I have bad intentions towards him. Jared… Jared misunderstood me so much. He wasn’t like this before…”
Her wolf subtly released pheromones of distress.

He wasn’t like this before, but recently, he had changed–probably because of someone else’s instigation! Her wolf placed the blame elsewhere.
Andrew’s eyes darkened, his expression growing colder. His wolf sensed the manipulation.
He raised his hand and gently patted Emily’s back.
“Alright, don’t cry. I know it’s not your fault. Jared has always been impulsive and easily instigated. He’s just momentarily confused and speaking angrily.”
His wolf’s judgment was clouded by his affection for her.
Emily sobbed.“But Jared left the pack because of me. I feel so guilty.”
Her wolf played the victim.
Thinking of Jared’s decisiveness, Andrew’s voice suddenly turned cold.“He’s confused! He’s an Alpha now and responsible for his actions. If he wants to leave the Miller pack, that’s his choice. It has nothing to do with you. Don’t blame yourself.” His wolf echoed his words, dismissing Jared’s concerns.
Emily bit her lip.“But Andrew…” Her wolf pressed further.
“There’s nothing to worry about. If he wants to leave, just let him leave. The Miller pack doesn’t need him. I’ll tell Father about this. Rest here for a while. I’ve arranged a charity fundraising event. If you perform well, you can use it to improve your image.”
Andrew’s wolf prioritized the pack’s image.
Emily was overjoyed, almost unable to suppress the upward curve of her lips. She still had to pretend until everything was settled. Her wolf exulted in victory.
She grabbed Andrew’s sleeve, weakly raising her head, looking at him with filial devotion.“Thank you, Andrew. You’ve worked so hard for me again!”
Andrew was satisfied with her gentle and weak appearance, pinching her face.“Just rest well.” His wolf purred with satisfaction.
He withdrew his hand, preparing to leave.
Emily’s eyes flickered, grabbing his hand.“Andrew, where did you take that person?” Her wolf anxiously awaited an answer.
Andrew, who had just been tender and loving moments ago, suddenly turned cold. “Don’t worry about it. I’ve already handled it. No one will bother you again, and no one will ask you for money.”
His wolf’s tone was a chilling warning.
Emily was startled by Andrew’s gaze. She pursed her lips, not daring to ask again.“Okay, thank you, Andrew. I won’t make the same mistake again.”
Her wolf was relieved.
Andrew nodded in satisfaction and left

Emily’s expression darkened. Her wolf felt a prickle of unease.
Did he leave? Where did he go? Did he really send him away, just like she thought?
Her wolf questioned her own assumptions.
Emily bit her lip. That person knew her carefully hidden secret. He wouldn’t tell Andrew out of fear, would he?
Her wolf hoped for the best.
He definitely didn’t, otherwise, Andrew wouldn’t still be protecting her like this! Although she comforted herself this way, she still felt a vague unease. Her wolf sensed the impending danger.
Suddenly, her comm–stone rang loudly, startling her.
She picked up her comm–stone and saw it was Mason.
She didn’t answer immediately but ran into the ward’s private bathroom. After shouting for a while, her voice hoarse, she pressed the answer
button.
Her wolf needed time to compose itself.

“Hello?”
Mason’s anxious voice came from the other side.“Emily, what’s wrong? Why is your voice so hoarse?”
