“The Smith Pack doesn’t deal in restorative elixirs; he knows nothing.” My voice was tight, my wolf bristling at their casual disregard. The other wolf remained unfazed.“I mean no offense; we’re friends, so I’m just checking in. You no longer control the Fire Pack’s elixir production, how do you plan to get this project into production? If you buy this project, you’re looking at tens of millions in investment; you can’t just let it go to waste.”

Their words were a subtle challenge, their scent carrying a note of skepticism.

Their words hit home, and I fell silent. Fire Pack was the only pack producing the Jade Porcelain Elixir; without them, I needed another pack to produce it.

Alpha Andrew would definitely not consider starting a new production line now.

My wolf whined, the weight of my predicament heavy.

My wolf whimpered again.

“Can I use my shares to mortgage a hundred million?” I gritted my teeth, stating a figure that pained me. Ten million was manageable; I could quickly reclaim my shares. But a hundred million meant waiting for profits before recouping my costs.

If Alpha Andrew found out I mortgaged that much of the Miller Pack’s holdings, he’d be furious. But I was too deep to back out.

The other end was silent, weighing the risks. At that moment, I was more worried about their agreement than my brother’s anger.

After a long pause, the other wolf responded:

“For others, definitely not, but since we’re friends, why not?”

Relief washed over me. A secure contract was sent. I reviewed it carefully.

After confirming its accuracy, I signed. My wolf sighed, a breath of weary acceptance.
