Chapter318.
My eyes lit up, the gloom lifting like mist from a sun–drenched meadow. My wolf yipped with joy, its fur tingling with excitement. “Really?” I asked, my excitement bubbling over.
My tail thrashed playfully.

Grayson, seeing my joy, chuckled helplessly. “Really.” His voice held a warmth that reached my very core. My wolf leaned into the comforting scent of his alpha.
I beamed, my smile as bright as the full moon illuminating the Silvermoon Pack territory.
“Go rest; the she–wolves will prepare everything; when they’re ready, you can come down and take charge of the kitchen.” His words were a gentle command.
With Grayson agreeing to go to the Healer’s Den, half of my worries lifted.
My wolf relaxed, its tension easing. I nodded happily.
After promising, I turned and floated upstairs, my steps light and carefree.
My wolf bounded with newfound energy.
Grayson stood there, watching me leave until my footsteps faded away, then his gaze darkened, his expression tightening like a vice, his eyes as cold as the winter moon. His wolf growled low, a simmering rage beneath the surface.
“Clean the kitchen,” he ordered the she–wolves, his voice sharp, laced with barely controlled fury.
The she–wolves bowed, not daring to say a word.
Grayson slowly made his way upstairs, his powerful form radiating anger.
The Miller brothers couldn’t compete with him in anything–hunting prowess or pack leadership; he crushed them effortlessly.
His wolf’s dominance was undeniable. But when it came to sisters, he could never measure up. Every time the Miller brothers faced defeat at his hands, they flaunted their sister in front of him, rubbing his nose in it.
He’d heard them boast more than once about my skills. My medicinal herbs were unmatched; my pastries could delight even the most discerning palate; I prepared meals for them every morning with my own hands…
But they never considered the toll it took on me!
His wolf’s fur bristled with anger. Just thinking about how I had gotten used to waking up before dawn to prepare those medicinal concoctions tightened his fists!
They boasted about how great I was, how delicious my dishes were, yet they never mentioned how early I had to rise or how hard it was to prepare everything.
They only enjoyed the results, ignoring my efforts!
Now, they even pampered the adopted she–wolf, a wolf who had committed a grievous act, while disregarding me…
Those Miller family mernbers deserved punishment! A flash of lethal intent, cold and sharp, crossed Grayson’s eyes, his wolf mirroring the violent thought.
After breakfast, I accompanied Grayson for a health check–up, really just to ensure he was serious about getting a thorough examination. I could trust him with many things, but I feared he might ignore this one, his pride hindering his self–care. My wolf remained vigilant. The Healer, sensing Grayson’s condition and noting the requested tests, adjusted his spectacles.
“Honestly, with Alpha Smith’s health, this many tests aren’t necessary…”
