Chapter361.
He stiffened, managing a curt, “I wouldn’t dare.” But the defiance simmering in his eyes was obvious to everyone.
His wolf was far from subdued.
I pretended not to notice, pressing on.
My wolf enjoyed the game.“The PR department didn’t immediately handle the situation because of my orders. Dustin, do you have an issue with my decision?”
Dustin was shocked. My orders? I actually told them to hold off? Letting the situation fester, what benefit could there possibly be? Or… did I have another plan?
His wolf sensed a trap.
Was she using this incident to achieve something else? A wave of panic washed over him!
His wolf’s usual confidence wavered.
He quickly lowered his head, concealing his surprise and suspicion. “I wouldn’t dare.” His voice was softer, losing the earlier confidence. His wolf’s submission was a forced one.
Seeing him “submit,” I turned to speak with the PR director.
Taking the opportunity, Dustin reached for his communicator in his pocket; he had to get this news out!
Under the guise of looking down, he secretly activated his communicator, his fingers rapidly tapping on the screen. He was attempting to alert others outside the pack.
Head down, fingers flying over the screen, he tried to send a message.
His wolf felt a growing unease.
“Look at the big screen!”
A sudden cry pierced the air.
“What the hell is that?!” The pack’s collective gasp was audible.
Suddenly, the crowd in the lobby erupted in a chaotic uproar. Voices overlapped, impossible to make out, the murmur swelling into a noisy clamor. Dustin’s instincts screamed something was wrong. Still clutching his communicator, he looked up in confusion. His wolf felt a prickle of fear.
When his eyes
fell the large LED screen in the center of the lobby, his blood seemed to freeze!
upon
His wolf’s senses screamed betrayal.
The screen clearly displayed his communicator’s interface! The text message he had just typed, yet to be sent, was displayed on the screen, word–for–word:–“That bitch, Isabella, is letting things fester; beware of a trap.”
Dustin nearly dropped his communicator in shock.
His wolf was paralyzed with fear.
He scrambled to delete the message, but panic made his fingers clumsy. He kept missing the right spots, barely erasing a word. Sweat poured down his forehead. By the time he managed to delete the message, everyone had already seen it clearly; the deletion was meaningless. His wolf was exposed.
