Chapter382.
I sat at my den, the glow of the Pack Council’s Howlnet stream illuminating my face.
My wolf, restless and sharp, sensed no surprise at the unfolding events.
With Grayson’s help, and the Silvermoon Pack’s considerable influence, clearing Emily’s name was practically guaranteed.
I needed her out, out of the picture.
How else could I make her taste the same bitter disgrace I’d suffered in my past life? I even had the Alpha’s servant bring a platter of wild berries as I watched.
A familiar yet unsettling image flickered on the Howlnet screen. My father, Edward Miller, Alpha of the Silvermoon Pack.
In my past life, when I was at my lowest, howling in despair, calling out for help, he’d dismissed me with a curt, Tm busy with pack matters; I can’t be there.” Even then, his pronouncements came filtered through a chilling Howlnet message.
“Your brothers indulge you too much; they wouldn’t intentionally harm you. Don’t whine just because you’re upse with Emily.”
His words still echoed, cold and sharp, in my mind. The contrast between my past helplessness and his current support of Emily was a bitter, festering wound.
My heart felt as if a shard of ice were piercing it, slowly, agonizingly.
So, he wasn’t busy; he wasn’t unavailable. He simply never cared enough to spare even a sliver of his time or energy for his own daughter.
This time, he’d journeyed far for Emily.
A bitter smile touched my lips.
The Silvermoon Pack had never truly loved me. My father was no different.
My claws tightened into fists, then relaxed. I was no longer tethered to the Silvermoon Pack. I was Isabella Miller, independent, my own she–wolf. Who they chose to bond with, who they chose to condemn, was their concern,
not mine.
I focused on the Howlnet stream.
The Pack Council’s statement arrived: due to insufficient evidence, the charges against Emily were dropped.
The accusations of bribery and falsifying medical records evaporated. All that remained was for the aggrieved parents to drop their pursuit of justice.
With a little manipulation from the Silvermoon Pack’s influence…Emily’s release was imminent.
My instincts were right.

As the Pack Council’s stream ended, another appeared. The Silvermoon Pack’s official Howlnet broadcast began.
Emily appeared, dressed in simple white, her fur groomed, her face carefully crafted to appear weary and remorseful. Her eyes were rimmed red, as if from recent tears, making her look vulnerable and pitiable. She approached the pups‘ parents and bowed low, humble and sincere.
“Uncle, Aunt, I am so sorry, truly sorry.”
Her voice was choked with emotion, her tone perfectly sincere.
“I know, I erred. I shouldn’t have been so impulsive. I shouldn’t have given the pup the almond. I swear, it wasn’t intentional–I just… I just wanted to get close to the pup and didn’t consider the consequences.”
Tears welled, her voice trembling.
“I know nothing can undo the harm I caused.
I will do everything in my power to compensate you and the pup. Furthermore, I will cover all medical, nutritional and rehabilitation expenses, doing everything I can to atone for my mistakes and beg for your forgiveness.”
She bowed again, then looked up with genuine–seeming guilt in her eyes.
“Please give me a chance to make amends.”
The pups‘ parents looked grim, but recalling the Silvermoon Pack’s warnings, could only reply with a cold, “Miss Carter, let the past be the past. The pup is fine.”
Their tone was stiff, but viewers, unaware of the underlying pressures, assumed lingering resentment.
Emily’s tears flowed more freely, yet a relieved smile played on her lips.
“Thank you, thank you for your forgiveness.” She bowed again, expressing gratitude for their “forgiveness.”
“Also, the Silvermoon Pack’s apothecary is launching a new line of healing balms; the profits should be considerable. I’ll donate all profits from the first three moons to a pups‘ charity, to help more ailing pups, as a
show of my remorse.”
Emily’s posture was impeccable, her tone sincere, tears falling precisely when needed.
The online outrage softened.
The Silvermoon Pack had orchestrated this positive publicity; the new balm line was excellent, many influencers already promoting it. Plus, the Pack had cleared up the misunderstanding, promised to cover all costs, and donated generously. Under the Silvermoon Pack’s control of the narrative, the criticism of Emily subsided.
Seeing the PR she–wolf give the signal, Emily bowed once more, tears streaming down her face, like a shattered
white lotus.
“I will remember this lesson and be more cautious, kinder, and never make the same mistake again.”
The incident seemed resolved.
Watching her pitiful, utterly disingenuous performance, a cold smirk stretched across my lips. Just as I anticipatec

Emily had seized this crisis to promote the Silvermoon Pack’s new balm line. She was using charitable donations as a facade, attempting to rehabilitate her image and boost her upcoming products. I’d seen this tactic countless times in my past life.
I grabbed my communicator; the numbers of key contacts flashed. The connection was instantaneous.
“Grayson.”
“Hmm.” Grayson’s voice was lazily playful.
“I need you to assign those top influencers I mentioned to Emily’s apothecary for promotion.”
I’d chosen them carefully.
With my current influence, placing those influencers in Emily’s marketing team was difficult–better to ask Grayson directly.
“Just the ones on the list I gave you, right?” I confirmed.
A light chuckle resonated from the other end.
“What, don’t you trust your brother?”
I smiled, barely containing it.
“I do, of course. In this world, besides you, I trust no one else.” I simply didn’t want innocent she–wolves and he–wolves implicated. In my past life, Emily’s Jade Porcelain Skin project continued despite my objections. Upon launch, it was a disaster. Short–term whitening effects, yes, but banned ingredients ravaged users‘ fur.
I took the fall and ended up imprisoned. This time, Emily would share the same fate.
I’d handpicked influencers known for promoting dubious products for coin, deceiving their followers. They would be the first “lucky” testers–perfectly suited.
