Chapter 517
Grayson’s telepathic ping hit my mind almost instantly through our shared Pack frequency.
[With who?]
Still just two words.
I could picture him now, sitting in his Alpha’s den at the Silvermoon Clan HQ, drumming his fingers on his mahogany desk. His face would be expressionless, but his Alpha pressure would be radiating off him, a cold frost heavy enough to freeze an Omega solid. My wolf wagged her tail inside me. sensing his possessive shadow,
The smile in my eyes deepened.
[A friend.]
A full minute passed after I sent the mental pulse before he finally replied.
[He–wolf or she–wolf?]
Four words, dripping with the scent of raw, territorial jealousy.
I knew it for sure then. My Alpha was a full–blown jealous mess.
I skipped the telepathy altogether. Instead, I just snapped a capture of Sebastian sitting across from me via my Howlnet lens and sent it.
In the image. Sebastian smiled back at me, the moonlight from the window falling on him and accentuating his refined Alpha pheromones and striking good looks.
This time, a heavy silence fell from Grayson’s end.
I waited for what felt like ages, but still, no reply came through the link.
I decided to hell with it and just established a direct voice–link to him.
The connection hummed for what felt like an eternity before his voice finally broke through.
“Something wrong? Grayson’s voice was a chip of ice, his wolf’s low rumble vibrating through the line.
Care to join me for dinner, Grayson? My voice was laced with a blatant smile.
A beat of silence met me from the other end.
No need,” he said. “Just enjoy your meal.”
He severed the link, the connection going dead without another word.
I lowered my hand, a slow smirk spreading across my face.
God, he was such a slave to his Alpha pride.
I excused myself to Sebastian, telling him I needed to use the washing chambers, then slipped out.
I pictured Andrew, pacing anxiously in the grand lobby of the Cloudcrest Citadel.
I watched Andrew in the grand lobby of the Cloud Top Citadel, a frantic silhouette against the opulent stone backdrop. He was pacing like a predator on the verge of starvation, his scent sour with desperation. I knew he was here for Sebastian–that much was an open secret among those who cared to listen. He must have paid a fortune in silver, scrambled for every whispered rumor on the Howlnet, just to confirm Sebastian was dining somewhere within these territory walls tonight. But the raw panic etched on his face told me he still hadn’t pinpointed the exact private den.
He’d be clutching a blood–debt check, I was sure, desperate to bribe the restaurant manager for any crumb of information. But I knew the manager wouldn’t budge, probably tossing the currency back at him like rogue trash
His face, I imagined, would be a dark storm. He’d be seething, convinced this was nothing more than a temporary slump in his lineage, and that he deserved far better than such blatant disrespect from the Silvermoon elite.
Suddenly, he spotted Isabella walking nearby.
The moment Andrew’s eyes landed on me, I saw the raw, surging hatred flood his expression, twisting his features into something ugly. His woll snarled just beneath his skin, baring ghostly teeth.
He clenched his jaw, his gaze fixed on Isabella Grant as she walked toward a man

The man’s back was to Andrew, so his face was obscured, but even from his powerful Alpha stance and confident aura, it was clear he was someone important, a high–ranking wolf of some stature. And the way he stood beside me, the subtle closeness of our pheromones, wasn’t lost on Andrew, I
was sure.
A dark, malicious glint flickered in his eyes, a toxic idea clearly taking root in his mind.
He sneered, ducking behind the corner foliage, then pulled out his Howlnet device and aimed it at Isabella and the he–wolf she was with.
He made sure to find an angle that made the image look incredibly compromising, as if our blood–scents were intermingling.
n the shot, Isabella had her head tilted, a faint smile playing on her lips as she spoke, and the man was leaning in, listening intently.
They looked incredibly intimate, just like a fated–mate couple deeply in love.
A picture. That’s all it took. One glance, one click, and it was out there, corrupting Grayson’s Howlnet feed, spreading through the pack like wildfire. I ust didn’t know it yet.
Grayson had kept that feed public for me, specifically so we could interact freely within the Pack’s social structure.
He was supposed to cherish me as his Luna, wasn’t he?
knew Andrew was dying to see Grayson’s reaction once he saw his mate acting so intimate, so utterly loose, with another he–wolf.
f Andrew wasn’t going to have it easy in the Silvermoon Pack, Isabella wouldn’t either.
could see it in his eyes, a glint of cruel satisfaction, as if he was already imagining Grayson’s explosive Alpha rage and a huge challenge tearing our Blood Bond apart.
He pocketed his device with a smug, self–satisfied smirk, his gaze already shifting as he resumed his search for Sebastian’s private den.
Meanwhile, at the Silvermoon Clan HQ, in the Alpha’s office.
Grayson stared at the jarring photo that filled his screen. My smile in it was so gentle, so soft.
knew what it would do to him. I could almost feel his composure slowly fracturing, his usual Alpha calm dissolving into thin air. He wouldn’t be able o hold it together. I pictured him grabbing his cloak, then charging out of his office, every step fueled by a raw, uncontrollable fury, his wolf clawing this chest to be let out.
ebastian and I were deep in conversation inside the private dining den, swapping amusing stories about our travels across other Pack territories. We vere laughing, our spirits high, when the heavy oak door to our private room suddenly, violently burst open without a shred of warning.
blast of cold, dominant Alpha air hit the room as Grayson appeared in the doorway.
fis gaze, sharp as twin silver blades, immediately locked onto Sebastian. The hostility and raw scrutiny blazing in his amber eyes were so intense, they elt almost palpable, a physical weight in the air that forced the oxygen out of the room.
in eyebrow arched on my face, a flicker of surprise I hadn’t quite expected.
fe’s here.
But far from panicking, a slow, knowing smile curved my lips, deepening the one I already wore.
You came so fast?
de didn’t even spare me a glance. He just strode directly to the table, towering over Sebastian, his eyes boring into him with the intent to challenge. His nere presence instantly froze the entire room, the air growing thick with the scent of ozone and unspoken tension.
watched Sebastian push his glasses up, his gaze meeting Grayson’s with an unnerving calm. There wasn’t a hint of a retreat in his eyes–he was an Alpha, too, and he wouldn’t be cowed easily.
‘Aren’t you going to introduce me?” Grayson’s voice was a low growl, each word forced through clenched teeth as his wolf paced behind his eyes.
I pushed back my chair, got to my feet, and walked around the table to Grayson’s ulde. With practiced case, I linked my arm through his, feeling the rock–hard tension in his muscles, then turned my gaze, a playful smile on my lips, toward Sebastian.
‘Sebastian,” I said, my voice sweet, let me introduce you. This is my guy best friend
I paused, letting the silence stretch, acutely aware of Grayson’s icy glare searing into me, his pheromones swirling in a storm of confusion and rage, before I slowly, deliberately, finished my sentence.
“And his preference? He–wolves.”

Grayson’s body instantly went rigid beside me.
The fierce, almost predatory aura that had clung to him, threatening to swallow anyone in its path, instantly crumbled. My wolf let out a mocking yip at his sudden deflation.
I watched as the raw hostility in his eyes, fixed on Sebastian, visibly eased, replaced by a flicker of something almost… embarrassed.
I turned my head back to Sebastian, offering him a quick, conspiratorial wink. Then, with an exaggerated solemnity, I presented Grayson. “And this,” I announced, “is Grayson. The most important he–wolf in my life.”
Sebastian, ever the gentleman, rose gracefully to his feet and extended a hand towards Grayson, a warm, reassuring smile softening his features. “Hello, Mr. Miller,” he said smoothly. Tve certainly heard a lot about you.”
Grayson’s rigid posture visibly relaxed, and his face finally cleared as he accepted Sebastian’s handshake, the Alpha–to–Alpha tension dissipating.
“Hello, Grayson replied, his voice still a little gruff, but the lethal edge was gone.
In that single handshake, two he–wolves standing at the absolute pinnacle of their worlds had just completed a silent power play and an unspoken truce. I could practically feel the air in the den relax.
I saw the tension visibly melt from Grayson’s shoulders.
He released his grip, shot me a quick, sheepish glance, and said, “You two carry on. I’ve got Pack business to attend to, so I’m heading out.”
He arrived like a whirlwind and departed just as swiftly, never an Alpha to linger when his dominance wasn’t being challenged.
Ill walk you out,‘ I offered.
I followed him out of the private den.
Out in the hallway, Grayson stopped and turned to face me. I could still catch a lingering hint of his earlier awkwardness in his gaze, his wolf looking away in his mind.
I rose on my tiptoes and kissed him lightly on the lips, scenting him to soothe his ruffled fur.
“Such a jealous he–wolf,” I teased softly.
Grayson’s ears flushed crimson, the heat rising to the tips, but he played it cool, denying, “I am not.”
It wasn’t just jealousy, not exactly. I knew he simply didn’t like any other male presence that could be perceived as a threat getting too close to his mate.
After I walked Grayson out, I turned around, my mood light and happy, ready to head back to the private den.
But just as I turned, I caught a glimpse of Andrew at the other end of the long corridor. He was talking to one of the servers, and a cold dread began to prickle at my skin. I had a bad feeling he was asking about the private den where I’d just come from.
Meanwhile, down the corridor, Andrew was making his move. He adjusted his collar, his face set in that humble smile he’d undoubtedly rehearsed a thousand times, and hurried forward.
He hadn’t even gotten close when he spotted me walking into a VIP den!
He must have instantly concluded I was also going to see that VIP, that important Alpha!
And if I got to the VIP first, if I said anything at all to poison the well, he knew he’d have absolutely no chance left for his lineage!
He rushed forward, his boots clicking on the stone.
But before he could even get close, two Pack Sentinels stepped in front of him, their eyes glowing with a warning.
This area is reserved for high–ranking members,” one of them stated flatly. “No entry without permission.” I can only imagine Andrew’s eyes burning red with fury,
This was his last shot, I knew. He had no intention of going to beg Julia for help anymore.
He pointed, his voice rising in a desperate howl, “Then why could that she–wolf go in just now?!
The Sentinel looked at him with an expression I’d recognize as pure disdain, the look one gives a mangy omega. “Miss Grant is a distinguished guest of the Silvermoon Pack,” he replied. “She’s permitted to enter.”
Andrew froze.
Miss Grant!
