Chapter 528
The iron door slammed open with a deafening clang, and Faye burst through.
Let go
of my mom!”
Faye roared, blindly charging at one of the men.
Her meager strength hit him, but he barely swayed. The man’s inner wolf didn’t even acknowledge the impact.
The greasy wolf ‘tst‘–ed, his eyes narrowing as he turned to glare at her.
Grayson Liam Ward, standing nearby, froze for a beat, then a slow, predatory smile spread across his face.
He grabbed a handful of Faye’s hair, yanking her head back with brutal force.
“Ah-!” Faye screamed, a ripping agony searing through her scalp.
Grayson Liam Ward’s laugh was sharp, almost a cackle. “Well, well, well, you wretched she–pup, you’ve come at the perfect time! Saves me the trouble of hunting you down! That old bat, your mother, she’s only worth twenty thousand silver–credits, but you? You’re far more precious. You could easily fetch two hundred thousand on the rogue market!”
“Stop it.”
My voice cut through the tense air. It wasn’t loud, but it was crystal clear, hitting everyone like a bucket of ice water. My wolf was showing her fangs now, a low vibration in my chest that demanded submission.
Grayson Liam Ward cursed, starting to spin around, but his rant died in his throat as I twisted the arm still tangled in Faye’s hair.
My grip tightened, a searing, inescapable pain that must have felt like a red–hot iron band clamping around his wrist. He couldn’t break free, no matter how hard he tried against my Alpha–born strength.
He glanced down, his eyes falling on my hand wrapped around his wrist. It looked pale, delicate, almost fragile, like it could snap if you bent it wrong, but the power behind it was pure lupine dominance.
“Who the FK are you…?”
As he finally managed to turn his head, his eyes landed on mine. My face was a blank mask, betraying nothing.
I didn’t even acknowledge him.
Instead, my other hand moved, bending down to snatch a rusty iron pipe from the ground.
I didn’t even pause to gauge the pipe’s weight. I just swung my arm in a wide, powerful arc, bringing it down with all my might on the arm that held Faye’s hair.
“Crack!”
It was a sickening crunch, not the clang of metal, but the unmistakable sound of bone giving way.
The sharp crack echoed through the empty factory, making my scalp prickle.
Grayson Liam Ward’s shriek erupted a beat later, tearing from his throat–a high–pitched, drawn–out sound that curdled the air, utterly inhuman, sounding more like a wounded omega than an Alpha.
He instinctively clutched at the arm now dangling at a grotesque angle. The sheer agony forced his grip to loosen on Faye, and he collapsed, writhing and howling on the dusty concrete.
The entire factory fell into a sudden, suffocating silence.
The fat wolf and old Mrs. Grayson were frozen, as if nailed to the

up and behind me, shielding her with my body.
My legs felt shaky too, but I reached for Faye, whose own legs had completely given out. I pulled her
My eyes lifted, slowly, deliberately, as I scanned each person in the room.
My gaze finally settled on the fat wolf, who was visibly shaking.
“Did you lay a hand on her, too?”
The iron pipe in my hand was still dripping blood, and Grayson Liam Ward’s agonizing screams were still tearing through the silence. The scene hit me with raw, brutal force.

It took a moment, but then Old Lady Grayson finally snapped back to reality. She threw herself at Grayson Liam Ward. ‘Liam Ward, my pup, what have they done to you? You goddamn monster! You broke my pup’s arm, I’ll tear you apart!”
My gaze pinned the fat wolf to the spot, and I could see the terror blooming in his eyes. He looked like he was frozen solid, rooted to the floor. His knees buckled, and I saw a dark stain spread across his pants. A foul, acrid smell of urine immediately wafted through the air, his pheromones reeking of cowardice.
His eyes were wide and vacant, completely blank, and the only thing I could read in them was a desperate need to escape.
He scrambled to turn, his bulky frame clumsy and slow, but before he could even take two steps, two figures materialized in the factory doorway. They stood like impenetrable walls, completely blocking his escape.
Dressed in black suits, their faces were utterly expressionless, their Alpha scents marking them as high–level sentinels.
The fat wolf froze, his mind clearly reeling from the sudden appearance of these two males. Before he could even process it, the sound of more footsteps echoed from behind him.
He turned his head, and I saw several more males in black suits spilling into the dilapidated factory, suddenly filling every inch of the space.
I knew instantly. These were Grayson’s men, sent here to protect me.
Old Mrs. Grayson watched her pup writhe on the ground, then her gaze flickered to the group of males who had materialized out of nowhere. I could see that familiar, furious defiance bubbling up inside her.
She scrambled to her feet, her eyes blazing red with a weak, desperate shift, and lunged straight at me.
“You little bitch! How dare you hit my pup? I’m going to rip you apart!”
Before her hand could even brush my clothes, a hand shot out from my side, grabbing her arm and twisting it with a precise, almost gentle, force Old Mrs. Grayson immediately let out a bloodcurdling shriek of pain.
“Ow, ow, ow! Let me go!”
I turned to Faye, a grim realization settling over me: now it was her turn to deal with them under the pack’s code of retribution.
Her face was pale, but her eyes were icy, brimming with a hatred so potent I could almost feel it radiating off her.
Step by deliberate step, she walked towards the old she–wolf, who was still screaming in the sentinel’s grasp.
Then, smaXX!
The sharp crack of it echoed.
Across the old woman’s wrinkled face, a clear red palm print bloomed.
She stood stunned, half her face already burning an angry red.
“You…you worthless hag! How dare you hit me?”
Faye didn’t acknowledge her, just whipped her hand back and slapped her again.
“CRACK!”
The sound was even sharper, louder than the first.
“That first one,” Faye stated, her voice quiet but razor–sharp, “was for my mom. You were never her mother–in–law. You were just a parasitic monster, leeching off her life!”
The old she–wolf completely lost it, thrashing like an eel in the bodyguards‘ relentless grip. “This is an outrage! I’ll rip you to shreds, you little bastard!” Faye watched the old woman’s maniacal thrashing. Without a single wasted word, she raised her hand and delivered the third slap.
Only after Faye was done, her fury spent.
The lead sentinel finally approached me, holding up the greasy middle–aged wolf he’d been dragging.
“Miss Isabella,” he said, “what should we do with him?”
My gaze was devoid of warmth, utterly cold. I looked at the male as if he were nothing but a piece of trash.
I uttered two words, flat and low.

“Destroy him.”
The sentinel understood, nodding. “Yes, Miss.”
Two black–clad sentinels immediately stepped forward, dragging the fat wolf like a dead dog toward the factory exit.
The male’s pig–like pleas and screams quickly erupted from outside, but it wasn’t long before they morphed into a single, gut–wrenching shriek, and then, silence.
Inside the factory, a deathly stillness settled.
I had made sure Irene was sent back to the Healing Sanctuary immediately, transferred directly into a top–tier VIP suite.
I watched as the Sanctuary Director himself came in, flanked by their top orthopedic specialists for the consultation. His attitude was so deferential, it bordered on outright fawning before an Alpha’s associate.
The examination revealed that Irene’s arm only had a minor hairline fracture; she’d recover completely with proper rest and moon–salve. Once everything was settled, Irene reached for my hand, her eyes red–rimmed.”
“Isabella,” she choked, her voice thick with emotion, “I truly don’t know how to thank you. If it weren’t for you, my daughter and I would have been in so much more trouble today…”
“Auntie, please don’t say that,” I said, squeezing her hand back, my voice soft with reassurance. “Faye and I aren’t just simple colleagues. We’re pack–sisters.”
Faye, deeply moved, embraced me. “Isabella, you’re wonderful! I’ll always be good to you, my whole life!”
I hugged her back.
In my past life, she had been good to me for my entire life.
By the time I’d finished handling all the follow–up matters, two hours had already slipped by.
Only then did I finally have a moment to pull out my mind–link crystal.
And that’s when I saw them: twenty–three missed pings from Grayson.
My heart plummeted.
I was just about to ping him back when strong arms wrapped around me.
I turned my head, my eyes locking with a pair of inky ones that swirled with dark, possessive Alpha energy. My wolf immediately lowered her head in submission, but a purr started deep in her throat as she caught his scent–mountain air and heavy musk
The way Grayson was looking at me made a nervous flutter start in my chest. His wolf was right at the surface, his pupils nearly swallowing the irises,
I barely had time to look away before Grayson’s voice rumbled beside my ear, his breath hot against my skin.
“You put yourself in danger. How should I punish you?”
