Chapter 652.
I watched as Grayson’s amber eyes met Miles’s. Their gazes locked across the stone–walled space, and the air between them instantly thickened, charged with an unspoken Alpha tension I could almost taste–a sharp, metallic tang of dominance.
Grayson, a formidable Alpha of our lineage, merely raised an eyebrow, but stayed silent.
He waited, his posture still and unwavering like a predator scenting the wind, for Miles to make his move.
Miles gave the Howlnet slate in his hand a little shake, angling the glowing screen directly toward Grayson. A subtle hint of teasing, almost a challenge, laced his voice, though his wolf remained calm.
“Grayson, you’re literally standing right here. Why message me on the Howlnet instead of just talking?”
I noticed Grayson’s brow furrow almost imperceptibly.

That scent–signature… that address…
It was Orion!
I stepped forward, taking the slate from Miles’s

hand.
I said, already tapping quickly on Miles’s slate surface, directly replying to the unknown frequency.
When are you coming?
After sending the pulse, I handed the slate back to Miles and quickly explained everything about Orion during his long slumber in the healing
dens.
Miles fell silent too.“Mom… Mom, she…
I sensed he wasn’t used to that address; our mother had been the Luna of a broken era.
I didn’t pay it any mind.“Mom really did die during the pup–birthing.”
I remembered how my maternal uncle had rushed over to our territory back then. Caleb and I had told him everything, and he’d been absolutely furious, even striking Gavin. It was Gavin, after all, who, under the guise of love, had made Mom bear one pup after another, exhausting her life–force to strengthen the pack line.
“Isabella, you….” I could hear the worry in Miles’s voice, his Alpha instinct to protect his kin surfacing.
“Big Brother, I’m fine. Anyone who dares to hurt Mom… I will never let them get away with it! My wolf will see to that.”
Meanwhile,
Across the Silvermoon territory, deep within the subterranean levels of an abandoned outpost.
“Tsk.”
A low click of annoyance echoed in the cavernous, damp room.
Orion’s gaze fell on the brief reply on his Howlnet screen. A wry smile, tinged with a hint of admiration, curved his lips.
She’d found him out again.
His “Isabella” was terrifyingly smart.
He’d just tucked his Howlnet slate back into his tactical vest when a sudden, violent wave of dizziness crashed over him, making his inner wolf snarl in confusion.
Orion’s body swayed. He immediately reached out, his hand slamming against the rough stone wall beside him to steady himself.
It was here.
He closed his eyes, distinctly feeling countless microscopic silver–shards stirring to life in his bloodstream, attempting to seize control of his shifting essence.
The pinprick on his neck now pulsed with a subtle, numbing itch.
Isabella’s nanobots!
Orion’s face darkened, his pupils bleeding into a lupine gold.
He fought down the dizziness that threatened to consume his consciousness, pulling a palm–sized metal box–a relic of forbidden

wolf–tech–from a hidden compartment in his vest.
The box bore no markings, uniformly black and smooth to the touch.
Without hesitation, he pressed a red rune–button on its side.
“A low hum-*
An almost imperceptible electrical hum filled the air.
An invisible energy field instantly emanated from the metal box, enveloping his aura entirely.
Almost at the exact same moment.
The numbness and dizziness that had been raging through my veins, consuming me, vanished as if a pause button had been pressed, disappearing without a trace.
Orion let out a long, shuddering breath, his shoulders visibly slumping. I could only imagine the cold sweat soaking his back; he looked utterly drained, his wolf retreating into the shadows of his mind.
He leaned against the wall, taking a few precious seconds to compose himself before he finally pushed off, his posture still rigid.
Grayson glanced down at the metal box in his hand. A cold dread settled in my chest as I recognized it: the device Victor had given him. It was meant to temporarily block and jam the signals of my lunar–nanobots on specific frequencies.
I’d always kept it in reserve, just in case.
I didn’t expect to use it so soon.
But I knew its limitations: this device only had a two–hour window before the Ancient Wolf Pact’s resonance would break the seal. He needed to get out of here, and he needed to do it fast.
I was in the top–floor sanctuary at Fire Tech.
Wearing a pair of sleek, high–tech scrying lenses, I watched as a massive holographic 3D map of the pack lands hung suspended in the air
before me.
On the map, a red dot was zooming across the forest borders.
But just seconds ago, that red dot, the one marking Orion’s scent–location, had suddenly flickered violently a few times, and then… vanished into thin air.
As if his wolf had never been there at all.
I took off my scrying lenses and casually placed them on my desk.
I rubbed my temples, my expression carefully neutral.
“Lost him.”
I looked at Grayson, who was lounging casually on the hide–covered sofa.“He’s got a shielding device. The nanobots I implanted in him are temporarily suppressed.”
Grayson didn’t seem surprised at all.
“It wouldn’t be normal if he didn’t have something prepared to get away from me.”
I nodded, adding, “Victor… he’s truly resourceful.”
To be able to develop technology that could counter my lunar–tech, this he–wolf I’d never even met was a formidable opponent.
A master of the craft who stole my mother’s remains… the possibilities of what he could do were endless.
I was about to pick up Victor’s file, ready to dive back into the lineage records.
But a large, well–defined hand reached out before mine, snagging the file. At the same time, it plucked the scrying lenses from my forehead, tossing them carelessly aside.
Clack.
The expensive gadget was simply tossed onto the spacious surface, its value momentarily forgotten.
I paused for a beat, then looked up at him.
His tall, Alpha figure completely enveloped me, his pheromones–cloves and heavy rain–swirling around me.
He didn’t say a word, only lowered his head, his bottomless, ink–dark eyes fixed silently on me.
The office was brightly lit, but I felt myself being pulled into his depths, my wolf tilting her head in submission and desire, utterly consumed by him.

Chapter 652
My heart actually skipped a beat, completely out of nowhere.
A long moment stretched between us.
Only then did Grayson’s deep, magnetic voice cut through the heavy air.
“It’s time to go home, Mrs Miller.”
Mrs. Miller…
Those three words hit me like a jolt of lightning, racing through every inch of my body, signaling the strength of our Blood Bond. My cheeks burned, a blush creeping up uncontrollably.
This morning’s images–the heat of our bodies, the marking–replayed in my mind like a movie, looping uncontrollably. My body instinctively recoiled, shrinking back a little.
“I… I still have some pack things to handle,” I mumbled, my gaze darting away from his, grasping at any excuse I could find. Grayson didn’t back away. Instead, he took another step closer, obliterating the last bit of

His warm breath ghosted against my ear, a dangerous whisper that promised more than just words.
“We’re newly bonded.”
His voice was even lower now, huskier, and infinitely more seductive, sending a shiver down my spine.
My body instantly stiffened.
I could feel the scorching heat radiating from his chest, and his intensely masculine, almost predatory Alpha scent filled my senses. My mind went completely blank.
“You… your body just recovered from the shift…” I managed, struggling to keep my voice steady. But the faint tremor betrayed my panic.“We…. we need to… take it easy.”
At my reaction, Grayson chuckled softly.
That laugh, deep and sensual, made my eardrums thrum and my wolf howl with a strange, frantic joy.
He lifted his head, his thin lips practically brushing mine.
“We’re newly married.”
He repeated.
The same words, but this time they carried an undeniable possessiveness, a righteous conviction of a fated–mate that brooked no argument. I was completely helpless.

He was utterly unreasonable!

The rest of my words were swallowed whole by a forceful, scorching kiss that tasted of ancient promises and wild, untamed nights.
