Chapter 653.
All my protests were swallowed whole by Grayson’s dominant kiss. My wolf, usually so fierce and independent, let out a soft, defeated whimper before surrendering entirely to his Alpha heat. My mind went utterly blank, and all I could do was passively endure his all–consuming presence, the scent of cedar and storm–clouds drowning out the world.
The office fell silent, save for the sound of our intertwined breaths and the heavy thrum of the Blood Bond vibrating between us. A long moment passed.
Grayson pulled back just slightly, his forehead resting against mine, our hot breaths mingling. His dark eyes were as deep as the lunar sea, churning with an emotion I couldn’t quite decipher a raw, predatory hunger mixed with something far more ancient–yet one that threatened to drown me whole.
My heart was pounding so fast it felt like it was trying to leap out of my throat.
I was just about to say something when…
…my body suddenly felt weightless!
Grayson had actually swept me up into his arms, bridal style, his Alpha strength making me feel as light as a pup!
“Ah!” I gasped instinctively, my hands automatically tightening around his neck, my fingers brushing the thick fur of the collar of his coat. “Grayson! Put me down!” I cried, a flush of both shame and anger rising in me. This was the Silvermoon outpost office, for the Moon Mother’s sake! If the Sentinels saw us like this, my authority as Luna would be shredded.
But he seemed not to hear me, his long, powerful legs striding purposefully toward the office door.
“We’re going home.”
His voice held a hint of undeniable dominance, a growl vibrating in his chest that left no room for argument.
My struggles immediately ceased. My wolf curled up contentedly, sensing the protection of her mate. I buried my face against his chest, feeling the steady, powerful rhythm of his heartbeat, my cheeks burning hot enough to fry an egg.
The next day.
I woke up feeling parched, the moon–cycles of the previous night having drained my energy.
I groggily opened my eyes, my throat feeling so dry it was almost burning. My entire body felt like it had been run over by a rogue Alpha, every muscle screaming in protest of the intensity of our bonded union.
“Water…”
I mumbled, my voice barely a whisper, raw and hoarse from the howls and whispers of the night.
The words were barely out of my mouth.
A straw gently brushed against my lips.
I instinctively parted my lips, and a stream of warm water slid down the straw into my throat, instantly soothing the fiery dryness. I took several greedy sips, feeling life flood back into my veins.
Next.
A rich, milky scent was brought to my lips. It was warm milk, laced with herbs to soothe a shifting body.
I obediently drank more than half a cup, feeling a gentle warmth spread through my stomach, finally filling the hollow ache inside me. I sighed contentedly, my mind slowly clearing.
I looked up, and my eyes met Grayson’s charming, smiling face.
He was leaning against the headboard, dressed in a well–fitted set of loungewear that barely contained his broad shoulders, still holding the cup, watching me with an unwavering gaze. In his eyes, I saw a hint of amusement, a touch of indulgence, and something else…. a flicker of tenderness that was almost imperceptible, the kind of look an Alpha reserved only for his fated–mate.
“Awake?” he murmured, his voice low and vibrating.
My face flushed crimson instantly. Memories of last night, and even the early dawn shift, flooded my mind–vivid, primal, and utterly uncontrollable. That he–wolf… he was absolutely insatiable!
I glared at him, then tried to sit up, but the moment I moved, an indescribable ache spread from my lower back through every muscle in my body.
“Hiss-”
I drew in a sharp, cold breath, then flopped back against the mattress, limply. My wolf let out a mock–shaming huff at my human weakness.

Chapter 653.
Grayson watched my kitten–like helplessness, and the smile in his eyes deepened even further. He finally broke the silence, a soft sigh escaping him. I saw a reluctant understanding in his eyes, as if he knew he couldn’t tease me anymore–not if he wanted me to let him get this close again.
He set down his cup, reached for me, and began lightly massaging my sore lower back with his large, warm hands.
“My fault,” he murmured, a hint of Alpha regret in his voice.”I just… lost control. The moon was high, and you…”
I was lying on the soft pillow, feeling the warm pressure from his palm. Only then did my tense body finally begin to relax under his touch. It took me a moment to really catch my breath, for my mind to fully clear.
But I needed to focus. On what truly mattered to the pack.
“What about Orion?” I asked, my voice still a little muffled against the silk.“Did the Sentinels catch him?”
Grayson’s hands, still gently massaging my back, paused for the slightest beat. A tense silence stretched between us.
When his answer didn’t come, I struggled to prop myself up, turning my head to fix him with a raised eyebrow. The message in my eyes was crystal clear: Don’t you dare tell me he slipped through our territory again.
Grayson met my questioning gaze and let out a soft, low chuckle. He reached out, his fingers gently tucking a stray strand of my hair behind my ear. Only then did he finally speak.
“We’ve got him secured in the silver–lined holding cells.”
Grayson paused, then his voice, laced with
amusement, spoke again.
“When you’re feeling better, I’ll take you to the outpost.
My face flushed slightly.“I… I’m fine,” I stammered, trying to reclaim my Luna dignity.
As I said it, I threw back the covers, determined to get out of bed. But the instant my toes touched the floor, my legs gave out from under me, and I pitched forward, utterly powerless to stop myself!
“Careful!”
Grayson, quick as a flash, extended a long arm, pulling me steadily back into his embrace. My face collided with his solid chest again, and the familiar, clean scent of him–like ancient forests–filled my nostrils.
Heat rushed to my face again, spreading uncontrollably. How utterly mortifying! I wanted to shift and run into the woods.
“It’s all
your
“Yes, yes,
fault!” I practically pouted, giving his chest a weak punch, the gesture more playful than angry.
it’s all my fault,” Grayson murmured, holding me close and laughing softly as he admitted his wrongdoing. But there wasn’t an ounce
of actual sincerity in his tone; his wolf was clearly proud of his stamina.
He gently placed me back on the bed and pulled the covers up around me.
“Get some more rest. There’s no rush to the trial.”
I stared at his handsome face, which was practically screaming “utterly satisfied” and “I’ll do it again next full moon.” My cheeks burned even hotter. I pressed my lips together, determined to try and reason with him.
“Grayson,” I began, clearing my throat and looking at him with a serious expression.
“Hmm?”
“I just helped you recover your core energy,” I reminded him, my voice serious. “Even if you seem perfectly fine now, your Alpha system is still a little delicate after the Blood–Core resonance.”
Grayson raised an eyebrow, silently urging me to continue.
I squirmed a little under his intense gaze, but I pushed myself to continue.
“So… for the sake of your health, in the future… you’ll need to exercise a little more restraint during our bonding.”
The words left my mouth, and my ears burned crimson.
At my words, the curve of Grayson’s lips only deepened, an amused glint in his eyes. He leaned down, his mouth close to my ear, his hot breath ghosting over my earlobe and sending a delicate shiver through me. His low, husky voice was dangerously seductive.
“Alright, I’ll try. But no promises when the moon is bright.”
I rested for another hour before I finally started to feel less miserable.
“I need to go see Orion.”
“Okay, I’ll
come with you.”
