Chapter 70
Just as I was immersed in the exam, something unexpected happened.
A note, sent by a fellow student from the back of the room, landed softly on my shoulder.
I paused, instinctively glancing around.
The Proctor, making her rounds, noticed the disruption.
She frowned slightly but merely said, “Focus on the exam; don’t be distracted.”
I nodded.
“Yes, teacher.”
I didn’t let the interruption faze me and continued concentrating on my answers.
Time slipped away, my quill never pausing.
Even when others rose to submit their work, I remained focused.
I took the exam seriously, only leaving the exam hall once it was over.
A feeling of accomplishment washed over me, mixed with anticipation of Grayson’s promised celebratory feast.
A smile touched my lips.
As I was leaving the building, a classmate hurried towards me.
“Isabella, the Pack Elder is looking for you; it’s urgent!”
I turned.
“What’s wrong?”
“He didn’t say; he just wants to see you.”
“Okay, I’ll go now.” I sent a message to Grayson, explaining the situation and that I’d be late.
He replied quickly.
“What’s wrong?”
‘Nothing serious; the Elder needs me,” I texted back as I made my way to the Elder’s den.
The hallway buzzed with pups, a mix of footsteps and excited chatter.
Suddenly, I bumped into Emily.
“Isabella, where are you going?”
I looked up, frowning, attempting to sidestep her.
One of her followers reached out, blocking my path.

“What?” I frowned, clenching my paws.
The follower smirked.
“To win a bet, you pull stunts like this? So shameless! I heard you even bet five million? You really have that kind of
silver?”
I halted, my brow furrowing, shooting her a cold glare.
“What are you talking about?”
“Don’t play dumb!”
My icy gaze swept over Emily.
She giggled, her eyes glinting with malice.
“You know exactly what I mean.”
Just then, the door to the Elder’s den swung open, and the instructor looked out.
“Isabella.”
Ignoring Emily, I hurried inside.
The den’s atmosphere was thick with tension.
A young pup stood there, looking anxious.
The Pack Elder was furious with the advisor.
‘Is this how you supervise your pups? Poor performance is one thing, but cheating?!”
I thought he was scolding the pup, but then his gaze snapped to me, his anger directed at me.
‘Isabella!”
[ froze, my gaze shifting from the pup to the Elder.
The tension escalated, the young pup shrinking back.
‘I’m talking to you! What are you looking at?!” the Pack Elder roared.
‘I don’t understand what you mean,” I replied calmly, meeting his gaze with unwavering resolve.
He scoffed, tossing his communicator in front of me.
He sneered, throwing his communicator at me.
‘You don’t understand? Isabella, when Bob passed you a note, why didn’t you say you didn’t understand then?”
The pup shrank even further.
I looked at him in surprise.
“Who are you?”

“You’re still pretending!” The Pack Elder slammed his cup down, sending it crashing toward me.
My wolf snarled, sensing the injustice.
