Chapter 8
Emily tugged at Caleb’s fur.
Her eyes, red–rimmed, held a wounded expression.
“Second Brother, don’t be angry with my sister. She’s upset because you gave her own Moonstone Hunt desigh to me. It’s my fault.
I don’t want her peace offering. I should be the one offering one to her.” As she spoke, she attempted to rise, intending to approach me.
Her pallor was alarming, and she swayed, on the verge of collapsing.
“Emily!”
A chorus of worried howls erupted.
Mason swiftly caught her before she could fall.
“You’re still recovering. Rest.” My brothers swarmed around her, completely ignoring my presence.
My wolf snarled; their blatant disregard stung.
After receiving their undivided attention, Emily looked up, feigning weakness.
“Sis, if you’re unhappy, just say so. I won’t use your designs again. We’re sisters. We can resolve this.”
I sneered.
“You’re right. I’m not happy that my hard work was stolen and ruined.”
Emily’s eyes welled up.
“Sis, you’re so cruel.”
I snorted.
“You told me to be direct.”
Jared glared.
“You’ve already hurt Emily, and now you’re forcing her to offer a peace offering? Isabella, do you have any compassion? Do you even remember Marcus?”
My eyes narrowed as I studied Emily.
This she–wolf, who had caused Marcus’s death and stolen my life, showed no remorse at Jared’s mention of him.
Instead, a flicker of pride danced in her eyes.
My wolf’s hackles rose.
Silence hung heavy.
Jared grew impatient, shoving me.
Don’t think you can get away with playing the oferim arost ortarlist.
Just a peace offering? You hurt Emily deeply,
I think you should forfeit your place in the Moonstone Hunt as recompense
The others agreed; their expressions were grim.
I recalled my past life.
When I was injured, I was left alone for three days.
My place in the Hunt was taken without my knowledge in the past, supposedly for my own good, to avoid further concher with Emik.
Now, they wanted to steal my place again.
“Alexander, that’s not necessary, Emily said, waving dismissively.
I can’t take my sister’s place.”
Emily, just accept it,” Alexander insisted.
Isabella’s actions were excessive. It’s generous to only ask for her to forfeit her place
I watched coldly, a sarcastic smile playing on my lips.
I think forfeiting my place isn’t enough”
