Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 525

Ivy shoved the bouquet into Grace's arms. “Elliot insisted on taking me out to celebrate last night. I didn’t want to wake you, so I just went straight out.”

“Celebrate?”

Grace held the bouquet and lowered her head to smell the flowers.

They were quite fragrant.

“Yeah!”

Ivy slipped on her slippers and came over to link arms with her. “Look, he even got me these flowers. Tsk, tsk, the man certainly knows how to make an impression.”

Grace looked at the flowers in her arms, then at Ivy’s smiling face.

“Is that so?”

Grace lowered her eyes, her voice soft. “That’s nice.”

“Right? I think he’s a pretty decent guy.”

Ivy seemed to let out a sigh of relief, her voice growing louder. “Grace, these flowers are for you! A little gift to hopefully cheer you up too!”

“Thank you.”

Grace held the flowers and managed a faint smile.

“By the way, where’s Mr. Clarke?”

Ivy evaded the topic, her gaze darting around the room. “I don’t see him.”

At the mention of Damien, Grace’s expression darkened.

“He… hasn’t come back yet.”

“Hasn’t come back?”

Ivy frowned, the smile vanishing from her face. “All night?”

“I don’t know.”

Grace nodded, turning to walk back to the living room with the flowers. “He probably had an emergency.”

“What’s with that guy!”

Ivy followed behind her, a hint of anger in her voice. “Leaving you all alone at home without even a phone call? Damien always seemed so reliable. How could he be like this at a critical moment? Ugh, men are the absolute worst!”

“It’s fine.”

As dinner was ending, Ivy put down her fork.

She pulled out a napkin, wiped her mouth, and seemed to have made a difficult decision.

“Grace.”

Grace looked up, her clear eyes gazing at her quietly. “What is it?”

Ivy avoided her gaze, her fingers gripping the napkin so tightly her knuckles turned white.

“Um… I think I’m going to move back to my apartment.”

Grace froze for a few seconds before she understood.

“Why?”

She lowered her head, her voice very quiet. “Is it… me? Am I making it difficult for you to stay?”

“No, no!”

Ivy quickly explained. “Of course it’s comfortable living in this huge mansion! It’s just… my apartment has been empty for a while, I need to go back and clean up. And… and I’m pretty much recovered now, so I need to get back to work. My apartment is closer to my office…”
