Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 557

"Who are you trying to scare?"

Serena dropped the smile and glared through the glass. "I have nothing left to lose. Don't think just because you have Damien protecting you, you can sleep soundly for the rest of your life. Your daughter is gone, and this is your karma! Do you hear me? It's your karma!"

Grace stared into Serena's eyes, remaining silent for a long moment.

"You knew Ethan was going to make a run for it," Grace said, suddenly calm, her tone resolute. "What else do you know?"

Serena's expression stiffened for a second before she scoffed. "I'm locked up in here. What could I possibly know? You give me way too much credit."

"You might be locked up, but what about the person pulling your strings?"

Grace was certain that aside from Mr. K, there was someone else backing her. "Without massive financial support, Ethan couldn't have orchestrated such a flawless kidnapping. It was you, wasn't it?"

Serena narrowed her eyes and fell silent.

After a long pause, she leaned close to the glass, lowered her voice, and mouthed a few words.

Even without sound, Grace understood perfectly.

She was saying, "In your dreams."

Grace slammed the receiver down and turned on her heel.

Behind her, Serena's hysterical screams echoed through the glass. "Grace! You're never getting her back! Your daughter is dead! He's going to drag her straight to hell with him! Hahaha..."

Grace's steps faltered for a fraction of a second, but she didn't look back.

The drive from the prison to the airport usually took an hour. Grace made it in thirty minutes.

She sped the entire way, blowing through more red lights than she could count.

By the time she burst into the departure hall, she was drenched in a cold sweat, her body weak from exhaustion.

"Excuse me!"
