Five Years Wasted Now They Beg Her Back novel Chapter 79

Grace’s hand tightened around her glass.

She was about to speak.

But a voice, colder and more commanding than Ethan’s, sounded from behind her.

"And why can't my fiancée be here?"

Damien had returned at some point.

He wrapped an arm around Grace, pulling her into his embrace in a possessive yet natural gesture.

Then he fixed his gaze on Ethan and Lilian.

The entire ballroom fell silent.

Everyone was too stunned to speak.

Fi… fiancée?!

The elusive heir of the Clarke family had made a rare appearance at a party, and he'd brought his fiancée?!

Lilian's smile froze on her face.

Did… did she hear that right?!

How could that bitch Grace be Damien's fiancée?!

Ethan's pupils contracted sharply.

He stared at the hand Damien had wrapped around Grace's waist, his eyes filled with disbelief.

Dorian, standing nearby, looked as if he’d been struck by lightning.

Someone like Damien was calculating and ruthless.

How could he possibly be in love with Grace?

He must be using her!

The more Dorian thought about it, the more certain he became.

He took a step forward, frowning as he spoke to Grace in a lecturing tone.

"Grace, stop this foolishness! Come home with us!"

"Do you have any idea who you're with? Don't let him deceive you!"

Grace found it laughable.

Home?

Did she even have a home anymore?

She shot Dorian a cold look.

"My business is none of your concern."

With that, she refused to waste another glance on them.

The gentle sea breeze and the swaying coconut palms seemed to blow away the gloom that had been weighing on her heart.

For the next few days, Damien truly did nothing but help her relax and have fun.

They went fishing, had barbecues on the beach, and lay on the sand at night watching the stars.

He never mentioned their arrangement or any plans for revenge.

He was like the most considerate partner, staying by her side, comforting her.

Grace's heart, long frozen, began to show signs of thawing under his gentle persistence.

That evening, as they lay side-by-side on the beach, Damien suddenly spoke.

"Grace."

"Hm?"

"Let's get married."

His tone was calm, as if he were commenting on the pleasant weather.

Grace, however, shot upright.

She looked at him, her eyes wide with shock.

"Become Mrs. Clarke, and no one will ever dare to touch you again."
