If You Treat Me Right, I’ll Stick Around
After closing her eyes and falling asleep, Abril found herself in a stunning garden, the flowers there had vibrant and vivid colors. She had never seen flowers as beautiful as those, and her mother was in the middle of them, smiling warmly.
“Hello, my little one.”
“Mom, why haven’t you visited me in a while?”
“Appearing in your dreams is not easy.”
“How have you
“Fine.”
been?”
Sophia approached Abril, took her hand and asked her.
“Are you ready?”
“For what?”
“To learn how to use your magic and break the next seal.”
Abril was a little nervous, but she was determined to make an effort to be of help to Alessandro. She nodded and said.
“Yes, teach me everything I need to know to control my magic, I’m ready.”
The next day, Abril woke up at noon. She had completed the training to control her magic in the dream, but she was completely exhausted. Koda had climbed on top of her, and Abril petted his ears.
“Good morning, Koda.”
Abril sat up in bed. Koda must have been hungry just like her. As she didn’t have the strength to get up, she pulled a cord that was next to the bed. Shortly after, one of the maids arrived.
“My Lady, I’m Vero, may I come in?”
“Yes.”
The maid made a bow and asked.
“Did you call for me?”
“I’m hungry, could you bring me some food?”

Before leaving, Vero asked her.
“Do you want me to help you dress or should I ask another maid to come?”

Abril usually dressed herself most of the time, which is why she had requested her clothes to
be
easy to put on since she didn’t like to depend on others to change. But that day, she felt
her body so tired and heavy that just getting out of bed was a problem.
“I’m still tired from the trip, I’ll stay in bed, you don’t need to help me change.”
“Then I’ll bring your food right away.”
“Thank you.”

Maya was very bored. She had been alone all morning, and at lunchtime, she thought she might see Abril or Cassian, but neither of them showed up at the dining room. After finishing her meal, she went for a walk around the palace. It was beautiful wherever she looked, but it was also silent, which made it boring. She ran into Cassian in one of the hallways, she approached and said.
“I haven’t seen you all morning, where have you been?”
“I was in a meeting with my brother, is something wrong?”
“That I’m bored? Although the palace is beautiful, it’s quite boring and tiring since I get lost all the time.”
“Then I’ll ask someone to escort you so you won’t get lost.”
“I want you to be the one to escort me, let’s take a walk in the garden, it seems to be very beautiful.”
“I’m sorry, but I can’t.”
“Why not?”
“I’m leaving right now.”
“Where are you going?”
“I’ll soon be leaving the palace, so I’m going to see the territory that will be granted to me when I become a duke.”

“Then let me accompany you.”
“Are you sure? I might not return today.”
“I don’t have anything better to do, so I’d rather tag along with you than stay in this dull palace.”
“Alright, although you might get bored, it’s not like I’m going to do anything interesting.”
“If I’m with you, I’m sure I won’t get bored. We can find plenty of ways to have fun.”
Cassian started walking and said to her.
“Hurry up, or you’ll be left behind.”
“Wait for me, don’t walk so fast.”
Upon leaving the palace, there was a carriage. Cassian opened the door for her.
“Hop in, we’re taking the carriage.”
Fronts
The interior of the carriage was large, and the seats were soft. She felt grateful not to have to travel on horseback as she found it very uncomfortable. When the carriage set off, Maya
asked.
“What territory are you given?”
“The territory of Kover.”
“Those lands are near the palace, I heard they are very fertile and prosperous.”
“That’s right.”
Noticing Cassian’s indifference when talking about the lands he would be receiving, Maya
asked.
“You don’t seem all that thrilled.”
“I’ve always been close to my brother in the palace, and I’m not thrilled about having to be apart from him.”
“You seem very close. Has it always been this way?”
“Not really. When we were kids, we used to fight over everything. But when the war started, we spent a lot of time together and became closer. When our parents and siblings died, that brought us even closer.”
“I’ve heard what King Venobich did to your family. That must have been really tough.”

“That man destroyed my family, and I’ll make him pay for that.”

“There’s something I’ve always wondered: why did King Venobich start the war, and why is he about to start another one? There are many other kingdoms, so why is he so obsessed with conquering the kingdom of Cosset?”
“That’s something I don’t know either.”
“Do you think there’s something in this kingdom he’s after?”
“You might be right, but what could he possibly want from Cosset?”
“I don’t know, but if I were you, I’d try to find out. If we knew what he’s after, maybe we could find a faster way to beat him, don’t you think?”
“That won’t be easy.”
“There’s nothing to lose by trying.”
“I suppose you’re right.”
“I’m pretty smart, you should listen to me.”
When they arrived at the lands of Kover, at the mansion where Cassian would reside upon becoming a duke, Maya said to him.
“Wow, your new home will be wonderful.”
“Yes, it’s not bad. Although I’d prefer to keep living in the palace, even though this house is smaller, it seems even bigger.”
“If you treat me well and pamper me, I might consider staying with you, so you won’t feel lonely.”
“Thanks, but I’ll pass.”
“Think about it.”
