Forgotten Wife Let the traitors kneel Down (by Patricia Maradiaga) novel Chapter 121

Even If It’s Not Beside Me

As Alessandro and Cassian returned to the main palace, Cassian said,

I’ll talk to the butler to have food brought to them and also assign some guards to watch over them.

Tell the guards to stay hidden; I don’t want them to be seen. They should only intervene if they leave the cabin and head to the main palace.

I’ll do that.

You were right.

What?

We know nothing about the darkness. They’ve told us more than we could have discovered on our own, and above all, they mentioned something that will help us face the darkness.

You’re talking about the light’s blessing.

That’s right. Abril doesn’t have to be on the battlefield to help us defeat the darkness; she just needs to bless our weapons.

But to do that requires a lot of magical power, and her magic has remained sealed.

She said her mother is teaching her to control her magic, but I think it would be best to bring Sirius to teach her. We can’t wait that long. We don’t know when King Venobich will start to move.

You’re right. That would be best.

When they arrived at the main palace, they parted ways. Cassian went to find the butler and the guards who would be watching over the elves, and Alessandro returned to the dining room where Abril was waiting for him for dinner.

Abril and Maya were talking and laughing. It was the first time Alessandro had seen Abril so happily chatting with someone her age, and at that moment, he realized that she didn’t really have any friends, that when he or Cassian weren’t around, she was always alone. Abril smiled when she saw him and asked,

Why is Cassian not here?

He has something to do. He said he would dine in his room.

Maya felt like she was intruding, so she stood up.

Maybe I should go too.

You don’t have to,” Alessandro replied. You can dine with us. Dinner will be served shortly:

Maya was very hungry, so she decided not to leave. She sat back down, and Alessandro gestured for dinner to be served. Within a few minutes, the maids served dinner. Abril chatter with Maya throughout the rest of the dinner. After finishing, Maya left, and Alessandro ordered for his bath to be prepared and said to Abril.

You can go ahead, I’ll be there shortly.

You still have work to do?

It will be quick, I won’t take long.

Alright.

Abril left with a few maids, and Alessandro went to his office. He took out a sphere used for communicating with Sirius during emergencies, as it operated on magic and consumed a lot of it. Whenever he used it, his magical energy was significantly depleted, depending on the length of the conversation, so he kept it short and concise.

Sirius, come here immediately.”

Sirius realized it must be urgent since Alessandro had used the magical sphere to contact him, so he used a teleportation scroll and arrived within seconds.

What’s going on?

I have two elves in my palace.

Two elves?

They followed Cassian; they want to help in the war.

That’s a good thing, isn’t it?

Yes and no. I’m worried about them being so close to Abril, but we need them. They know how to fight the darkness.

And why have you called me?

I need you to teach Abril to control her magic. We need her to bless the weapons we’ll use during the war.

Blessing a weapon requires a significant amount of magic and the ability to control it.

That’s why I’ve called you. Abril said her magic has several seals blocking it. I need those seals to be broken.

I’ll do everything I can.

Stay in the palace tonight; I want you to begin tomorrow.

As you command, Your Majesty.

Alessandro returned to his room. Abril had already finished her bath and was wrapped in a

robe while one of the maids combed her hair.

You’re back already?

Alessandro approached Abril, the maid had already finished combing Abril’s hair and left them alone. Alessandro caressed her hair, his fingers moved down her neck, slipping inside

her robe as he asked.

Are you tired?

Abril, with flushed cheeks, wondered why Alessandro was asking that question and replied.

No, not at all.

Alessandro’s lips touched her neck while his hands wandered aimlessly inside her robe, a moan escaped from Abril’s lips. He turned the chair around, took Abril in his arms, carried her to the bed, laid her down gently, and captured her lips. They shared a deep and gentle kiss. Their kiss intensified and grew more eager, and as they parted, with ragged breath, she

asked.

What’s wrong, Alessandro?

You know I love you, right?

Abril ran a hand through his short brown hair and replied.

Yes, I know. Will you tell me why you’re so anxious?

It’s just that sometimes I’m very afraid of losing you.

You’re not going to lose me.

Alessandro hugged her without saying a word, she returned the embrace, and being so close, she could feel his breath, his warm breath gently caressing her neck.

I love you, Alessandro, I love you. I will always be by your side, you’re not going to lose me.

Cassian laid back on the bed with his arms behind his head, staring at the ceiling. He was very worried, his mind was a tangled mess, worrying about what might happen and he couldn’t sleep, although he had told Alessandro that they had to think about the kingdom and its people above all else; that wasn’t what he felt, he wanted to protect Abril, he just wanted her to be happy, even if it wasn’t by his side.

After tossing and turning in bed several times, Cassian went out to the balcony. That night, the moon shone with great splendor. He gazed at it for a moment until he heard a door open, he turned his head and saw Maya, she was wearing a light white nightgown that fluttered

with the warm night breeze.

What are you doing here?

It’s very hot and I felt suffocated. I wanted to go out for some air to cool down. What about you?

I feel the same way.
