Maya climbed onto the railing.
“What do you think you’re doing? You could fall, get down immediately.”
“I won’t fall.”
Maya jumped to the balcony where Cassian was. He caught her and said,
“You’re totally nuts! You could have died.”
“I knew you would catch me.”
“You’re completely crazy.”
“Maybe I am a little.”
Cassian continued to hold Maya, feeling the warmth of her body, her soft breathing, and the sweet
floral scent she exuded. He became nervous, he let go of her, and stepped back.
“You’re very reckless.”
“I get that a lot.”
Maya leaned on the railing and started looking at the garden.
“This place is beautiful, but it feels like a cage, a very beautiful one, but a cage nonetheless.”
“Why do you say that?”
“I’ve been here for a short time, but that’s how it seems to me. I’m a free spirit; I travel when I feel like it and never stay too long in one place. Imagining living in a place like this for the rest of my life
made me think that, and I feel sorry for Abril, because that’s her life.”
Cassian stood by her side and replied while looking at the garden,
“This place isn’t as awful as you make it out to be. I’ve lived here all my life and never felt that way. In fact, I wish I didn’t have to leave. My happiest memories are in this place, in these gardens where I played with my siblings and walked with my parents.”
Maya remembered that several of Cassian’s relatives had been killed in an ambush by King
Venobich, and that only two princes of the royal family remained because they were on the battlefield at the time. She wrapped her arms around him and hugged him, Cassian blushed.
“What are you doing?”
“Just giving you a hug, isn’t it obvious?”
< Grateful for Our Bond
“Yes, but why are you hugging me?”
“Because it seemed like you needed it.”
“You shouldn’t hug a guy out of the blue; he might get the wrong idea.”
Maya gave him a sweet smile and replied,
“And how would you misinterpret it?”

“I could… I’m a man, if I have you so close, with your body pressed against mine, it’s natural for my body to react to you. You’re a very beautiful woman.”
“Wow, I think that’s the first nice thing you’ve said to me.”
Maya stretched out her hand and caressed his cheek.
“Feel free to misinterpret it; actually, I’d love it if you did. I like you a lot and I’d like to make good
memories with you before I leave.”
“Like what kind?”
Maya stood on tiptoe to reach him and stole a kiss.
“Like these.”
“Maya…”
Before he could protest further, Maya kissed him again, silencing him…eir breaths began to
quicken, and without realizing it, Cassian had wrapped his arms around her and was returning the
kisses.
“This is a mistake, we should stop.”
The kisses had become deeper. Although Cassian’s words said they should stop, his actions said
otherwise. He seemed to burn in the same way she did. She dragged him to the room, kissing him nonstop, and when they reached the edge of the bed, she pushed him, making him lie down. She lifted her nightgown and climbed on top of him, Cassian’s hands rested on her legs, both joined
their mouths in a passionate kiss.
Their breaths were labored, the fire of passion burned within them both. Maya began to unbutton his shirt, her hands ran over his well–defined muscles. Cassian turned her over, making her lie
beneath him and said,
“This isn’t right.”
Maya started to remove his pants and replied while kissing his neck,
ก.

“According to whom is it not right? Because it doesn’t seem that way to me. Or do you not like
me?”
“Of course not, you’re beautiful, but…”
Maya kissed him without giving him time to make more excuses and said,
“Then everything is fine, let’s continue, don’t even think about leaving me halfway.”
Cassian felt like he couldn’t stop, or maybe he just didn’t want to. His mind was clouded, and in the end, he let himself be guided by his instincts. It was his first time, and he felt like he touched the sky and returned to earth. He never imagined that being with a woman could be so wonderful and
pleasurable.

After spending intimate moments together, Abril ended up falling asleep in Alessandro’s arms. He gently caressed her back, feeling the gentle rise and fall of her breathing. He had deeply resented the marriage, having been forced to wed the daughter of the man who had destroyed his family and massacred his people, but at that moment he thanked God for their union, for having become her husband, her man. He kissed her forehead and whispered softly.
“I love you, my beautiful Abril.”
He held her close, and they slept like that through the night.
In her dream, her mother appeared somewhat strange and uneasy.
“Mother, is something wrong?”
Sophia hesitated, unsure whether to share her troubles with her daughter.
“Mother, you can tell me what’s bothering you.”
“Two old friends came to the palace today. I know that one of them has been searching for me for a long time, that he has bound himself to the human world and won’t leave until he finds me, but I’m already dead. He won’t be able to find me no matter how much he searches, no matter how hard he tries, he won’t be able to reach me.”
The thought of dying without Alessandro knowing, of him desperately searching for her, made
Abril’s heart ache.
“Mom, if there’s anything I can do to help you, I would love to do it.”
“Do you really mean it?”
“Of course I do.”

Sophia took her daughter’s hands and said,
“Abril, would you let me use your body for a moment to meet my friend and tell him to stop searching for me, as my life is over.”
Abril nodded and said,
“Yes, mother, I’ll help you with whatever you need.”
Sophia gave her a strong hug.
“Thank you, my dear, you can’t imagine how important this is to me.”
