When Sophia opened her eyes, having a physical body felt strange to her. She got up from the bed
and went directly to the balcony. A gentle breeze tousled her hair, and the warm rays of the sun
caressed her skin. These were sensations she never imagined she would feel again. After all, she
was already dead. Only her soul had clung to Abril to protect her.
She returned to the room and put on the first dress she found, then looked at herself in the mirror. Abril was identical to her, except for one thing: her long reddish hair. She placed her hand on the mirror as if she were seeing her own reflection. She wondered what face Ethan would make when he saw her, what he would say when he found out she was dead, that all this time he had been
searching for someone who was dead.
Even though they were a bit far away, she could feel his presence, so she went out to look for them. As she walked, she saw the beauty of the gardens. For a moment, she felt as if she had returned to the realm of the elves, as the buildings and gardens had a certain resemblance. It had been so long since she had left her kingdom because of love and she never imagined she would
miss it so much.

When Cassian and Maya arrived at the small cabin, they found Et!

d Dantriel at the door.
Cassian asked, seeing that they were wearing their cloaks despite the heat. Since that morning,
he would go to find her. Before Cassian and Maya arrived, the two had been arguing because Dantriel told him he couldn’t move recklessly. He didn’t want to say what he planned to do, so he replied.
Ethan had been feeling a presence similar to Sophia’s. He had told Dantriel that “”
“We weren’t going anywhere.”
Cassian raised the basket high and said, “We’ve brought you something to eat.”
Dantriel took the basket and replied, “I doubt you’ve come all this way just to bring us food. What do you want?”
“It’s true, I didn’t come here just for that. I want you to tell me how to fight the darkness, not something vague. I want details.”
“Alright, but I also want details. I want to know who we are facing.”
“Yes, I’ll tell you everything you need. Let’s go inside; it’s hot out here.”
They were about to go in when Ethan turned around and ran off. Everyone turned to see where he

was headed. When Cassian saw Abril approaching, he was chilled to the bone. Shouldn’t have been in that place; she shouldn’t have encountered the elves.
Ethan stopped in front of her. He touched her face, and although her hair was a different color, he recognized her immediately.
“Sophia.”
He hugged her and said, “I finally found you, finally.”
Sophia was just as emotional. She found the embrace comforting and couldn’t help but cry. Her tears flowed freely down her cheeks, and she could barely articulate his name.
“Ethan…”
Cassian, seeing Abril return the hug, wondered if they already knew each other. He approached
and asked,
“Abril, do you know him?”
Sophia separated from Ethan, though he resisted a little, not wanting to let her go.
“Right now, I’m not Abril; I’ve just borrowed her body for a bit.”
Cassian was very confused; he didn’t understand what was happening.
It was scorching hot that day, she said,
“We should continue this conversation inside; there are too many ears arou
They all followed her, and as she passed Ethan, he kept staring at her intently. He was the last to enter, staying by the door, blocking the exit in case she tried to escape.
Ethan stayed close to Sophia.
“What do you mean you’re not Abril? And how do you two know each other?”
Cassian asked again with an expression of annoyance and confusion on his face since a moment

“This is Abril’s body, but at the moment, it’s my spirit controlling it; she’s in a sort of sleep, so to speak.”
Ethan didn’t understand what Sophia was saying and asked,
“What nonsense are you talking, Sophia?”
Sophia turned to Ethan and said,

“I don’t have a physical body anymore, Ethan. I died a long time ago. Today, I only reunited with you because I want to release you from your duties as my knight.”
“That’s not true.”
Ethan took her face in his hands, rested his forehead against hers, and said,
“You’re not dead; you’re here with me. I can feel your warmth, your breath. If this isn’t being alive,
then I’m dead too.”
“She’s telling the truth.”
Dantriel responded while looking at her intently.
“That’s not Princess Sophia.”
“Don’t talk nonsense, Dantriel; she’s right in front of you. Can’t you see her?”
“You’re the one who’s so blinded you can’t see she’s not Princess Sophia.”
Ethan looked at her intently; she looked exactly as he remembered, the only difference being the
red hair.
“Tell me it’s not true, that it’s all just a joke.”
“I’m sorry, Ethan, but it’s no lie. I’m already dead.”
