Forgotten Wife Let the traitors kneel Down (by Patricia Maradiaga) novel Chapter 157

Little Wandering Sprite

While being kissed passionately, Maya clung tightly to Cassian. Her hands slid down his back, holding onto him like never before. Her hands trembled, and though she knew why, she refused to accept it. She clenched them tightly to stop the trembling. Their ragged breaths intertwined with each kiss. Each caress he gave her, she wanted to keep in her heart, her mind, and her body.

They only shared that moment once, and neither of them was satisfied, but they forced themselves to stop. They still had to go see the fairy queen. After leaving the bathroom, they dried their bodies and put on the clothes the fairies had brought them. Maya took out a comb and started to untangle her hair. Along with her clothes, the fairies had left her a crown of flowers. She put it on and asked Cassian, How do I look?

Maya looked absolutely stunning. The fairiesclothes were loose and colorful, fitting her perfectly, as if they had been made for her.

Simply beautiful.

I know.

Cassian offered her his hand and asked, Shall we go?

Of course.

Upon leaving the room, they saw the two fairies who had entered before. They were waiting to take them to the queen.

Please follow us.

They followed them, and halfway down the corridor, they met up with Dantriel and Ethan, who were also dressed in linen clothes. As they walked through the halls, Ethan whispered to Cassian, Try to keep your mouth shut in the presence of the queen. Don’t speak unless you’re told to.

Don’t treat me like a kid.

Then don’t act like one. Remember that we are the ones who want something from them, not the other way around.

I know.”

The fairies led them to a large dining room. There was a feast of endless dishes served on the table, along with strange fruits and manycolored flowers decorating it. The queen was seated at the head and said to them, Please sit down.

Dantriel and Ethan sat first, and Cassian and Maya followed suit.

Please, help yourselves to as much as you’d like.

Maya and Cassian hesitated for a moment about eating what the queen offered, but when they saw Dantriel and Ethan put several items on their plates, they followed suit, choosing only the same items. During breakfast, there was an awkward silence, with only the sound of cutlery clinking against plates. When breakfast ended, the queen stood up and said, Follow

me.

They followed her in silence to a room decorated with beautiful flowers. The queen walked up to a chair that seemed to have been made from branches and leaves. She sat down, holding her head high with dignity. Cassian and Maya concluded that this was her throne. She leaned back and said,

*So, what do you desire?

Dantriel stepped forward, bowed, and said in a sweet voice,

Your Majesty, queen of all fairies, we are here because we need the key to the gate of Hades that is in your possession.

And why do you think I would give you something so valuable?

The letter I brought explains why, Your Majesty.

I know, I have read it, but your war does not concern me; it does not affect my realm. You know my kingdom is beyond your domains.

Dantriel knew that would be the fairy queen’s response, so he wasn’t surprised to hear her answer. Ethan stepped forward, made an elegant bow, and said,

Your Majesty, we need that key to face our enemy. Is there something Your Majesty desires in exchange for that key?

The queen smiled and said,

And what do you have to offer?

I have nothing to offer, Your Majesty, but I will give you whatever you ask.

Are you sure?

Yes, what does Your Majesty desire?

That key is of great value. I can only ask for something equally valuable, or it wouldn’t be a fair deal. I want what I gave for it.

And what did Your Majesty give in exchange for that key?

A fairy.

Dantriel and Ethan looked at each other, and it was Dantriel who asked,

How can we return something you already possess? Your Majesty is the queen of all fairies.

That is not true. I gave one of my fairies in exchange for that key and lost my rights over her Now I want her back.

Where can we find her?

You won’t have to search, she’s already with you.

Cassian couldn’t remain silent any longer, he asked.

What do you mean by saying we’ve already brought her?

The queen was annoyed by Cassian’s rude tone. She frowned and replied angrily.

Humans never know when to keep their mouths shut.

Maya took Cassian’s hand to calm him. The queen continued speaking.

If you want the key, you already know the price you must pay.

Dantriel asked cautiously to avoid angering the queen.

My lady, I apologize for my companion’s behavior. Could you tell us whom you are referring

to?

The queen looked at Maya and said,

Why don’t you tell your friends about your origins, little wandering fairy?

Cassian turned to look at Maya. There was a silent question in his gaze. What is she talking

about?

Maya knew this would happen if she went. Her father and her brother had known it too, which is why they had opposed her going to the land of the fairies, but she also knew it was something she had to do. She looked at Cassian and said,

Do you remember the story I told you about how the key to the gate of Hades ended up in the queen’s hands?

Cassian remembered it clearly and was afraid to respond.

Yes.

It wasn’t just a story; it was the story of my ancestors.

No, you don’t

Cassian looked at the queen, he was furious with her for daring to ask them to trade Maya for the key.

No, ask for anything else, but not her.

You have nothing else that interests me. If you don’t give me what I ask for, you can leave the same way you came.
