Forgotten Wife Let the traitors kneel Down (by Patricia Maradiaga) novel Chapter 185

Crying Like a Little Girl

Claim

Vritra tightly squeezed Abril’s arm, and she felt that her arm would break at any moment if he kept

squeezing so hard.

He shook her and asked her again.

Answer me, what the hell have you done to me?

Alessandro attacked Vritra, stabbing him in the back with his sword. His attack would have killed any human, but it did no more harm to Vritra than a needle prick would. Vritra threw Abril to the ground and turned around, with the sword still stuck in his back.

You’re a real pain.

Vritra spat with great disgust, pulled the sword from his back, and said.

I should give you a slow death. I think that will ease my anger a bit.”

Alessandro resorted to using his fists since he no longer had his sword. He landed the first punch, but it achieved nothing. Vritra returned the blow, his strength was overwhelming, and Alessandro barely withstood the hit. But after five consecutive plows, he ended up falling to the ground. Abril, who was barely conscious a few steps away, tried to help Alessandro but couldn’t; she had

exhausted all her magic.

Vritra relentlessly attacked Alessandro, not giving him a chance to counter. He didn’t stop until he left him halfdead, created a fireball in his hand, and said.

I’ll turn you to ashes, so you won’t get in my way again, worthless scum.

Abril panicked. She crawled over to where her father was, grabbed him by the leg, and said.

Let him go.

With a kick, Vritra threw Abril far away and said.

Don’t interrupt me, you’ll be next.

At that moment, when she thought she would lose everything, Abril heard her mother’s voice.

My little girl, break the seal.

Abril knew that if she broke the seal, she would lose her mother, but if she continued to refuse, she and Alessandro would die at the hands of her father. Her mother’s image suddenly appeared in front of her, she reached out as if to caress her, but couldn’t; her hand passed through her skin. With a gentle smile, she softly said.

My little girl, it’s time for you to let me go, live your life and be happy.

A tear rolled down Abril’s cheek. Sophia looked in the direction where Vritra was and said,

Save him too.

Abril didn’t quite understand what her mother meant, but she could no longer hesitate. She wished with all her heart for the seal blocking her magic to be released. In her mind, a golden door appeared and opened, and, like a river, she felt her magic flowing throughout her body. Before, her magic had been like a small puddle that dried up easily, but at that moment, her magic became an infinite ocean, with no limit. Abril stood up, her body engulfed in silver flames. Vritra turned, sensing an overwhelming power. Something in him made him tremble with fear.

His daughter, Abril, was behind him, enveloped in silver flames, that overwhelming power emanated from her. Although she was small and seemed like a porcelain doll that could break at any moment, Vritra couldn’t help but tremble before her; the darkness within him cried out for help. His whole being told him to flee, but he couldn’t do it, his feet were rooted to the spot.

Abril’s hair transformed from its red hue to pure white. She recited a chant as she walked.

Silver flames that purify everything they touch, spread far and wide, destroying the darkness that hangs over the earth; sacred flames heal wounds and revive the dying.

When Abril stood before her father, she raised her face with firmness and authority; there was no

trace of fear or doubt on her face as she finished her chant.

Flames bring light and illuminate the darkness.

Upon finishing her chant, the silver flames that surrounded Abril’s body spread across the battlefield and reached the horizon where an army of monsters was located. The screams and cries of the monsters and some soldiers corrupted by darkness filled the air. Vritra fell to the ground and began to writhe; those flames that had previously caused him no harm were now destroying him.

Alessandro’s wounds healed, and he could feel how Abril’s magic healed every wound on his body and restored his strength. Seeing her, she appeared transformed; she looked like a goddess who had descended from the heavens. As the power flowed from Abril, Alessandro could see how all the chaos returned to order, the army of monsters turned to ashes. Vritra was the only one left

alive, writhing like a leech on the ground.

Abril approached him; although her magic was powerful, it didn’t seem to be enough to defeat Vritra. She placed her hand on his face and said,

May the darkness in you disappear.

Those words seemed to have power because Vritra’s screams became even louder. Suddenly, he fell silent, and his body began to turn into mud and started to crumble.

Abril’s flames began to extinguish, and her hair returned to normal, becoming a vibrant red again.

She staggered, and Alessandro hurried to her side, catching her before she fell to the ground, and

asked.

Aby, are you okay?

Abril had broken the last seal and used a lot of magic at once. She was tired; her magic seemed

limitless at that moment, but her body had its limits.

She heard Alessandro’s voice speaking to her, but her consciousness was elsewhere. She saw her mother in front of her, her long blonde hair swayed gently in the breeze. Behind her, the sun began to set behind the mountains, and beside her, holding her hand, stood her father. He looked at her with warm eyes; she had never seen such an expression on her father’s face.

Mom.

Thank you for freeing us.

What?

Your father had been trapped by darkness. I couldn’t free him, but you could; you were the only

one who could. Thank you.

The image of her father said to her.

Forgive me, my child, for not taking care of you and for all the pain I caused you.

This was the first time Abril heard sweet words from her father’s mouth, sincere words that

showed affection, and she started to cry.

He moved a little closer and said,

I have always loved you, my child. You can’t imagine how much I do, but the darkness within me prevented me from showing it to you. That darkness demanded your blood every time I saw you, that’s why I pushed you away, ignored you, and sent you far away. It was the only way I could protect you. Forgive this useless father who couldn’t take proper care of you.

Abril knew her father’s spirit wasn’t lying, and her tears turned to tears of happiness. She had always thought she wasn’t loved by her father, that she never had been, but hearing that it was the opposite, that he loved her so much he did everything he could to protect her, made her happy.

They both embraced her. Though they didn’t have physical bodies, she could feel the warmth of

their embrace.

I hope you find happiness, Abril, my little one, and that, from now on, your life will be filled with only

joy, said her father as he hugged her. Sophia said to her,

Even if you can’t see us, we’ll always be watching over you.

Abril couldn’t articulate a word, she just kept crying like a little girl in her parentsarms.

They both kissed her on the cheek.

We must go, but remember that you will never be alone, Aby,said her mother, as both bid farewell with warm smiles, and they began to turn into small specks of light until they completely disappeared, ascending to the heavens.

At that moment, Abril realized she was in Alessandro’s arms. He was calling her frantically, but she couldn’t answer, losing consciousness while watching the sky filled with the colors of the sunset

and the specks of light that seemed to turn into stars.
