That night, Alessandro returned to his chambers early. When he arrived, he caught Abril eating the fruit in his room. She choked upon seeing the king. Patting her chest lightly, Alessandro

approached her, took her hands, and made her raise them. After a few minutes, she felt better and

said, “Thank you.”

Alessandro was still holding her by the arms. Abril was on tiptoe since he was too tall.

“Are you alright?” He asked.

“Yes,” she replied.

Alessandro looked at her intently. Abril wondered when he would let go. Her hands were starting

to tingle and her back ached.

After making sure she was alright, Alessandro released her and said,

“If I hadn’t arrived just in time, you would be dead right now.”

“If you hadn’t arrived, I wouldn’t have choked,” thought Abril.

“Thank you very much, Your Majesty,” Abril said.

Alessandro sat on the sofa and said, “Sit down.”

Abril sat on the far corner of the sofa. Alessandro asked her, “Have you ever taken magic lessons?”

“I don’t possess magic, Your Majesty.”

“I know that, but answer what I asked you.”

Abril shook her head.

“No, Your Majesty,” she replied.

“I will find you a teacher.”

“But I…”

“You must learn the principles of magic even though you do not possess magic.”

“Alright.”

“And I think you should move back to the palace.”

“What?”

“Your Majesty promised that I could stay where I am living until I am pregnant. Weit, am I already

Alessandro had not yet touched the princess. He wondered how the princess had come to that

conclusion.

“What are you talking about? How can you be pregnant when I haven’t even touched you?”

“But we have slept together twice.”

Alessandro felt that the princess was more naive than he had imagined and asked, “Princess, do

you know how babies are made?”

“Of course, I read it in a book. It said that if a couple kisses and sleeps in the same bed, they will

have a child.”

Alessandro was astonished. The princess really didn’t know anything about a relationship.

“Princess, have you ever received a wife’s education?”

“No, everything I know I have learned from books.”

“Don’t tell me you thought that just by sleeping in the same bed you would get pregnant?”

Abril nodded and replied, “That’s what the books I’ve read said.”

Alessandro was surprised. At one point, he had even doubted her purity, but it was quite the opposite. She was someone too pure.

“Princess, have you ever kissed a man?”

“No, Your Majesty omitted the kiss during the wedding, although I have read about kisses in books, you just have to close your eyes and press your lips together like this.” Abril showed the king. “Isn’t that right?”

“Yes and no.”

Alessandro brought his face close to the princess’s, pressed his lips against hers, and gave her a soft kiss, which grew deeper. Abril felt like she couldn’t breathe. She pushed the king away, gasping for air, trying to breathe.

“Kisses are terrifying, I felt like I almost died.” Abril said after breaking free from Alessandro’s

kisses.

Alessandro couldn’t help it anymore, he had to laugh. This was the first time Abril had seen him with a smile on his lips. He certainly looked much better that way.

“I think we’d better leave this for another day. I think the princess needs to receive a wife’s education, otherwise this is going to be very annoying.”

Abril wondered what the king was referring to. He got up from the sofa and walked over to the bed. Seeing that the princess was still on the sofa, he said, “Are you planning on sleeping on the sofa?”

“No, we must sleep in the same bed so we can have a baby.”

Alessandro laughed out loud and said, “Of course.”

Alessandro got into bed, Abril did the same. She hugged the king. He was surprised and asked, “What are you doing?”

“We’ve already kissed today, if we sleep in an embrace I’m sure to get pregnant.”

Alessandro laughed again and said, “I doubt that’s the case.”

Although Alessandro said that, he did not pull away from her. The two slept in an embrace

throughout the night.

The next day, when Alessandro woke up, he told the butler to find someone to teach the princess

about wife’s education. This seemed a bit strange to the butler, since family members do receive

wife’s education at the age of fourteen. However, he did as the king ordered.

Alessandro went to his office. He sent for Sirius Narrow, a great mage, and his friend. When Sirius entered the King’s office, he greeted him courteously and asked, “What have you summoned me

for, Your Majesty?”

“I want you to teach my wife the principles of magic.”

“The enemy princess?”

“I only have one wife.”

“Why do you want me to teach her the principles of magic?”

Alessandro knew he had to tell his friend what was going on so that his help would be more

effective.

“The princess never received any education about magic, she doesn’t know she possesses magic.”

“What are you saying? How can there be someone who doesn’t know they possess magic?”

“Strange as it may seem, it is so, as her magic has not yet awakened.”

“This is the first time I’ve heard of such a thing.”

“You’ll be more surprised to learn the type of magic she possesses.”

“Stop with the mystery and tell me what kind of magic she possesses.”

“The princess possesses Light Magic.”

Sirius had never heard of such magic and said, “That kind of magic doesn’t exist.”

“It does exist, it’s just very old, it’s part of forgotten magic, that’s why very few know about it.”

“I need to know more about this magic.”

Alessandro handed him a thick leather–bound book and said, “Here you will find all the information that exists about this magic.”

Taking the book, Sirius asked, “Where did you get this book?”

“I’ll keep that information to myself.”

“I’ll return the book to you when I’m done.”

“I can’t let you take it, you must read it here.”

“Why?”

“I can’t tell you that either.”

“I understand, then I will read it here.”
