Forgotten Wife Let the traitors kneel Down (by Patricia Maradiaga) novel Chapter 243

Part II: Seduction

Alessandro was sitting on his bed, watching his little daughter sleep. He had spent hours trying to sleep. but in the end, he had given up; he was tiredhis body was telling him over and overbut his mind wouldn’t let him rest. He was worried about Abril; he wanted to see her and make sure she was okay, but he had no way of doing so, or at least he hadn’t found a way yet.

He had heard about two mirrors that could reflect the other person no matter how far apart they were.

When he had heard about it, he thought it was just a fantasy story, but he had thought the same about stories of elves and fairies, and they had ended up being real.

A lightning bolt illuminated the room, and Alessandro thought he saw something in the window. He leaned

out of the window, but there was nothing, only the pouring rain. He rubbed his eyes and said to himself, I need to rest, I’m seeing things.

He leaned out of the window once more, made sure there was nothing there, closed the curtains,

approached the crib, and looked at his daughter one more time before going to bed and turning off the

dimly lit oil lamp in the room. He toccod and turned in bed for a while, but in the end, tiredness won, and

he fell asleep.

That night, his dreams were filled with nightmares, memories of the war he wanted to forget. The next day, he woke up even more tired, sat on the bed, and rubbed his eyes, which felt heavy and as if they were filled

with sand.

Lissana started crying. Alessandro got up, took his little one in his arms, and started rocking her while saying, Good morning, my little princess. What’s wrong? Do you miss Mom too?

One of the maids knocked on the door.

Your Majesty, may I come in?

Come in.

I heard the princess crying, Alessandro. She must be hungry; it’s time for her meal. May I?”

Of course.”

The servant took the princess, started to bottlefeed her, and while doing so, she glanced at the king. He had a bare torso, and his muscular and welldefined body was a true work of art. She could barely maintain her composure in front of him. The king was the most coveted man in the kingdom; all the palace servants sighed when they saw him, and many had taken that job hoping to be seen by him and perhaps be taken as a concubine. But the king loved the queen so much that he didn’t even give them a

glance.

At that moment, however, the queen was not in the palace. That was something that few knew. The servant wondered if she could take advantage of the queen’s absence to seduce the king. Alessandro opened his wardrobe and started looking for his clothes. She said to him, Your Majesty, please let me

help you get dressed.

Alessandro hated being helped to get dressed, as it made him feel useless. All the servants knew that,

and above all, they knew that they should never neglect the princess for any reason, she should always be their top priority. But that servant had forgotten, or simply was ignoring it. Stopping feeding Lissana, Alessandro raised an eyebrow and asked, What’s your name?

The servant thought she had managed to catch the king’s attention, that he was asking her name because he wanted to know more about her. With a sweet and melodious voice, she replied, My name is Zarai, Your Majesty.

Are you new?

I started working in the palace a year ago, Your Majesty.”

I see. Put Lissana in her crib.

Excitedly imagining what would come next, Zarai left the baby in the crib, approached Alessandro seductively, and with a somewhat timid attitude, she said, Your Majesty, I know it is not appropriate for me to say this, but I have been in love with Your Majesty since the first time I saw you. I know Your Majesty has the queen, but

Zarai put her hand on Alessandro’s chest and said to him, I would be happy being Your Majesty’s concubine, if he allows me. Let me accompany you during the queen’s absence.”

Alessandro abruptly moved her hand away, threw his head back, showing a face full of contempt, and with a look as cold as ice, he said, You will pay dearly for your insolence.

What?

Get away from me before I tear you apart.

Zarai didn’t know what was happening, but nevertheless, without responding, she threw herself to the ground and said to him, Excuse me, Your Majesty. I thought you were interested in me. I just wantedWith a mocking laugh, Alessandro said to her, What made you think such stupidity?”

Your Majesty asked my name. I thought

I asked your name to know what name to give the butler when I tell him to throw you out of my palace. You ignored my daughter, and that is something that no one should do.

I only wanted to help Your Majesty.

By offering yourself as a whore? I think you have mistaken your place. You were here to take care of my daughter, the princess heiress of the Laios kingdom. At no time were you hired as a concubine.

Zarai turned pale as a corpse. She had misunderstood the king. She pressed her forehead to the ground and began to plead, Please, Your Majesty, have mercy on me. Forgive my mistake; this will not happen again.

Of course, this will not happen again, because you will be fired.”

If Her Majesty the queen were here, she would forgive me.

Those words ignited Alessandro’s anger even more. He said to her, I believe you have the wrong idea about my wife. Although she is sweet and kind, she is not stupid. What do you think she would say if she

heard that you ignored our daughter to seduce me? Believe me, she would not show you mercy, just like I

won’t either.

Lissana started to cry again. Alessandro took his daughter in his arms, began to console her, and said to the servant, You will not only be fired but also imprisoned for disrespecting the royal family, paying a high price for having disrespected my daughter.”
