Part II: I want to know you more
Alessandro was a little nervous. Abril took his hand, squeezed it lightly, and said, “If my mother said you’re from the lineage of the guardians, then it’s true, so don’t worry.” Enora was pleased to hear the young girl speak so well of Sophia. “You’re right. If Sophia said it, then it’s the truth. So don’t be afraid and open the door. Think of this as just a formality.”
Alessandro let go of Abril’s hand and walked toward the door. When he stood just a few steps
away from it, he felt drawn to it, as if someone was calling him. He reached out and placed his hand on the door. As soon as he did, he felt a strange energy coursing through his body. He
wanted to pull his hand away, but then he heard a voice in his head.
“Open the door, and you will find the answers to all your questions.”
Seeing Alessandro standing still, Enora said, “Command the door to open.” The voice in
Alessandro’s head also encouraged him to open it.
“Open,” he ordered firmly, and the door swung open, releasing a bright light that blinded everyone present and slightly pushed them back. When their eyes adjusted to the light, the doors had already closed, but Alessandro was nowhere to be found.
“Where is Alessandro?” Abril asked, visibly upset as she looked around the room.
“He must be inside,” Enora replied calmly. “Only guardians can pass through that door. Now we just
have to wait for him to return.”
“Will he be okay?”
“Yes, I’ve never seen a guardian get hurt after entering there, so stop worrying. It seems like a safe place for them.”
Abril continued to stare intently at the door. No matter what the elven queen said to calm her, she couldn’t quiet her troubled heart.
“We’ll have to wait until he comes out. Do you want to talk while we wait?”
“What do you want to talk about?” Abril asked, without taking her eyes off the door.
“A bit of everything.” Enora gestured to Dantriel to leave. Once they were alone, she sat on the floor. leaning her back against the opposite wall to get a good view of the door. “Why don’t you sit down? It might take a while for him to come out.”
Abril sat down on the floor, mimicking the elven queen, though she kept her distance, not wanting to get too close.
“What exactly do you want to talk about?”
“I already told you, a bit of everything. I’d like to get to know you a little better, and for that, you
could start by changing your hair color. I know you’re not blonde
“Dantriel told you?”
“Yes, so change it to your natural color. I don’t like how much you resemble Sophia
1 thought it would make her feel comfortable if I baked the her
It’s the opposite because it reminds me that she’s no longer here
Abril twisted the ring on her hand, and her hair returned to its original color, a beautiful, vibrant red.
It seems you’ve inherited your father’s red hair
Did you know my father?”
“Yes, I allowed him to enter Arkala, sealing my sister’s fate. If I hadn’t done that, maybe… well, it doesn’t matter anymore?
1 don’t know much about my father. I only knew his cruel side since he was possessed by darkness. But when he died, he said he loved me, that he always had.”
Your father was always a soft hearted fool That’s why he ended up being controlled by darkness.”
That was the first time Abril had heard anything about her father that wasn’t full of curses, and she wanted to hear more about him.
Do you know how my parents met?”
“Yes, do you want me to tell you their story?”
“Yes, I don’t have any memories of them. I’d love to hear more about them.”
“Your parents met more than twenty years ago in the Norton forest. It was a hot summer day. Sophia and I had gone hunting in the forest. While we were at it, we saw a young redhead fighting for his life with all his might. A group of bandits was attacking him. They were humans, so I wanted to ignore them, but Sophia didit. She jumped into the fight like a lioness.*
It seems my mother was very brave.”
“Yes, and very reckless. You take after her in that way” Enora continued telling the story. “She protected that young man with her body and said to the assassins in a thunderous voice, Leave him, cowards”
The adsadoins responded, “Who are you? Move aside if you don’t want to die.”
Sophia glared at them with disdain, it wasn’t a fair fight, they were just cowards who couldn’t face him individually. She drew her bow and spat out her words with great anger.
1 should be the one saying that. Move aside if you don’t want to die, you filthy scum.”

Enora watched from a distance, putting her hands to her head at the sight of her sister’s actions. When the bandits rushed at Sophia, Enora emerged from the trees like a panther and attacked
them from behind, bringing them all down in an instant.
“What do you think you’re doing, Sophia?”
“It wasn’t a fair fight. I couldn’t ignore it.”
The redheaded young man behind her said, “Thank you so much for your help.”
Sophia turned to look at the young man. He was very handsome, and when their eyes met, it was
as if lightning struck them both. The attraction between them was obvious.
Enora appeared, interrupting the moment. “You’ve said thank you, so leave.”
Sophia noticed a bloodstain on the young man’s clothes and asked, “Are you hurt?”
The redhead removed his hand from his wound, and blood started pouring out, making him dizzy.
“I think so,” he said before passing out and collapsing to the ground. Sophia rushed to his side and inspected the wound. He had a nasty cut on his abdomen. She applied pressure with her hands and used light magic to heal him. When Enora realized what she was doing, she pushed her away.
“What do you think you’re doing, Sophia?”
“Trying to save him.”
“We are forbidden from showing our power to humans, so stop.”
