Forgotten Wife Let the traitors kneel Down (by Patricia Maradiaga) novel Chapter 364

The Kingdom of the Fairies

Early in the morning, the doctor knocked on the door of the room. Alessandro woke Abril and said to her,

Aby, wake up, the doctor is here.

Abril sat up and said,

There’s no need to examine me, I’m fine.

I’ll feel more at ease if you do.

Alright.

Alessandro opened the door, and the doctor bowed and greeted the royal pair. While the doctor examined Abril, Alessandro didn’t take his eyes off the doctor for a single moment. The doctor felt very nervous, as if a wild animal was stalking him, and he couldn’t wait to leave that room.

Is she alright? Is she pregnant?

Alessandro growled.

Fearfully, the doctor replied,

No, Your Majesty, she is not pregnant. I regret to inform you.”

He couldn’t hide the disappointment on his face, but that only lasted a fraction of a second before he immediately changed his expression to a calm one.

What’s wrong with her?

It just seems to be fatigue; with a few days of rest, she’ll be fine.

The doctor gathered his things, said goodbye, and left the room.

Abril looked dejected, Alessandro sat next to her and asked,

What’s wrong, Aby? Why do you look so down?

You truly wished I was pregnant, didn’t you?

Of course not.”

Alessandro took Abril’s face in his hands and said,

Look, it’s true I want to have a child with you, but I know this isn’t the best time. We’ll wait until the time is right, when we’ll have many children.

And if I couldn’t have children, would you still love me?

Of course I would, I love you, Aby, and even though I’d like to have children, if it’s not possible, it doesn’t matter because I have you.

Promise me you won’t take another wife.

Of course not, I would never do such a thing; you are and always will be the only one for me.

Cassian and Maya were heading to the dining room when they saw the doctor leaving Alessandro and Abril’s room. Cassian hurried to the door and asked,

Can I come in?

Come in.

Upon opening the door and crossing the threshold, Cassian asked with great concern,

What was the doctor doing here?

It was nothing.

Are you sure?

Yes, sure.

Maya is back, after breakfast, we’re going to see the elves. Do you want to join us?

No, I still have work to do, you go,then tell me how it went.”

Alright, then I’ll see you later.

When Cassian left the room, Maya asked him,

Is everything okay?

Seems like it, shall we go have breakfast?

Yes, I’m famished, you didn’t let me have dinner last night.

That’s not true!

You entered my room just minutes after I arrived, and after that, you didn’t let me get out of bed. Do you

want me to go over the details to refresh your memory?

Cassian blushed and said,

Don’t continue, I remember

Maya linked arms with Cassian and said,

Then let’s go have breakfast, or I might end up teasing you

Let’s go.”

After breakfast, they both headed to the north wing where the elves were located. They stood in front of

the door, and Maya was about to knock, but Cassian stopped her and asked,

Do you think they’ll help us?

We’ll find out soon enough.

Maya opened the door, and the two elves reached for their weapons. She said to them,

Don’t attack me, I come in peace.

Ethan approached and greeted them,

Hello Maya.

I know where one of the keys to Hades is located, but I need your help to retrieve it.

Where is it?

It’s in the fairy kingdom, in the hands of the fairy king. Do you know how to reach them?

The fairy kingdom? How are you sure it’s there?

Cassian couldn’t help but ask,

So it does exist?

Ethan responded with a serious face,

Yes, but it’s not a place you want to go.”

Why not?

Fairies aren’t usually very friendly, especially towards humans.

Neither are you, yet here you are.

Dantriel responded,

If you think we’re not friendly, it’s because you haven’t met them. Fairies detest humans.

But this war affects us all, they should help too.”

Dantriel laughed,

They would rather die than work with humans.

I suppose they really do hate us.

Yes, that’s how strong their hatred is. If they have one of the keys to Hades, I don’t think they’ll give it to
